View Full Version : I'm so frustrated with Word!!!

I'm at work doing some documentation of stuff I've done during last year. I'm making some short texts and loads of pics (it has to be easy for 3-6 year olds to understand as well), but sometimes the pics just get stuck on the edges of the paper and it's making me mad!!!! Even tho I've formated the pic so it should be amongst the text it still just stays like glued to the edges. Sometimes I've done a sideroute so I've formated the pic to be behind the text, but then I have to change an awful lot in the text to make it right and if I add more pics it's just more work... This has bothered me years, but as I don't need to do it so often it's been OK, but now I'm so totally getting fed up with it!
Anybody know a solution?

Well I am already totally fed up with this one after less than a year as I have to do stuff I don't enjoy at all. Give me funds so I'll so gladly wander round the globe again!!!

i usually put pictures in a table (with no borders obviously) otherwise i find them a total pain to deal with, if i have to put text next to them.

word is pretty useless for anything but writing standard documents. all of their templates are horribly drawn up and impossible to customize

ps: you still use the copy that i sent you?

Yeah -- using Word for layout is like hammering a nail with a screwdriver. With enough luck and patience you can probably get the nail in straight, but it's better to just get a hammer.

I've done that already a few times and at this age it ain't so easy to get a new job just like that... I didn't learn the internet and spend two winters on My Space cause I had loads of work then...

I used your cd to get Excel cause that didn't come along with XP home edition. I think that's a bit newer.

I've never heard of Styles tho, that enree mentioned privately, and with amongst the text I meant "Inline with text" and that's where they still get stuck on the edges. I'll check out the other tip you gave.
And at work they have older version of Windows than what I have at home. I wish we could get PageMaker or something like that... but we're just a pre-school, not any advertising agency...
