anyway i can see what codecs i'm missing or haven't got? computer just got back from getting a new power box and yeah.. all my .avi's and .mpegs won't show any visuals, only sound...

frustrating the fuck out. i just unistalled old divx and re-installed the latest version. no luck.

Video LAN Player (VLC) brings most codecs to the table. If you can code C++, there is also a Direct X sample which'll look up your codecs and list which ones are installed...

VLC gives the same result which pisses me off even more. if divx and vlc can't gimme some visual - what the fuck else can?
