Freakin' 'eck!
The "once rather good, entertaining, then pathetic all too similar songs" TV-show attracting all of Europe for over 30 years has totally flipped now! (Abba won it in 1974 I think it was, with Waterloo, and in the 70's there was quite a lot of good catchy popsongs on it.) Last year the Finnish Lordi won the contest (the first even winning for Finland, if I remember right) after all these years of glitter and bland. So of course amongst this years contestants you're gonna find loads of heavy metal, but even the Swedish alternative glamband the Ark are trying to make their mark. Now even more shocking news: Morrissey (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/09/morrissey.eurovision.reut/index.html) has been approached to enter the contest, British trying to get some more credibility (Great Britain making the remarkable 28th place last year....). Will it work? Will I watch the freakin' show again after not doing it for, like, 25 years?
