Freakin' 'eck!
The "once rather good, entertaining, then pathetic all too similar songs" TV-show attracting all of Europe for over 30 years has totally flipped now! (Abba won it in 1974 I think it was, with Waterloo, and in the 70's there was quite a lot of good catchy popsongs on it.) Last year the Finnish Lordi won the contest (the first even winning for Finland, if I remember right) after all these years of glitter and bland. So of course amongst this years contestants you're gonna find loads of heavy metal, but even the Swedish alternative glamband the Ark are trying to make their mark. Now even more shocking news: Morrissey (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/09/morrissey.eurovision.reut/index.html) has been approached to enter the contest, British trying to get some more credibility (Great Britain making the remarkable 28th place last year....). Will it work? Will I watch the freakin' show again after not doing it for, like, 25 years?

He's been 'approached'. That doesn't mean he's really gonna do it, right?
Morrissey just doesn't seem like the kind of person that approves of the whole Eurovision thing. He's too pessimistic.
He can't do it. He just can't! T.a.T.u. did eurovision and they fucked up a Smiths song so he needs to stay away from that evil place of untalented people.

"Morrissey expressed an interest way back last year in writing for the contest and since then we have been in talks with him," a BBC spokeswoman said on Tuesday.-

Think morrissey does have a love of Eurovision. The video for you have killed me was like a spoof eurovision song contest performance.

Saw him at G-Mex, Manchester last month and after the support act, before he came on the video screens just showed loads of naff 70's obscure eurovision acts:confused:

I t doesn't matter if we revived the beatles and had them play for england, we's still come bottom. It's votes are always by politically biased and at the moment we are being persecuted for the war on terrorism etc etc.

Not too mention that the music is shite!
