when iran can actually put forth a motion to impeach their president (and be halfway there) while americans are affraid to even think of it makes my stomach ache.

Interesting. I doubt this will actually go through, even if the signatures are collected and proceedings are begun I can see Ahmadinejad backpedalling and moderating his positions until he reaches a compromise with his opponents that allows him to retain his position, at least until the next election. But either way, forcing him to take a softer line with his internationl relations can only prompt increased dialogue and decreased tension throughout the region. An Iranian leadership militantly opposed to Israel's very existence was a pretty scary thing. An Iranian leadership open to discussion, debate, and a less confrontational method of dealing with its neighbours would be great to see.
