I don't think you kids get enough rockabilly in your diets, so I think it's time we discuss all things rockabilly.

This can of course refer to various rockabilly revival (Stray Cats) and some psychobilly (The Cramps, The Gun Club), too.

Any favorites? Obviously you gotta mention Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, Warren Smith, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, etc. And yes, it also can refer to (Sun-era) Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.

Besides The Cramps, one of the best psychobilly acts is definitely Rev. Horton Heat! (y)

So yeah... discuss.

The Blasters was my favorite from that '80's neo-revival.

The Shakin' Pyramids were way underrated.

For whatever reason, I don't think of Buddy Holly or Roy Orbison as rockabilly acts. Hell, X had more rockabilly going on than those two, and I don't even think I'd call X "rockabilly."

I loved the "Heavy Trash" collaboration Jon Spencer and Matt Verta Ray got up to last year, fantastic live, Spencer has always dripped rockabilly and the live thing between him an Matt proved it…..(y) (y)

There's loads of great rockabilly from Finland and Sweden. In the mid-late 70's Teddyboys (or Deaners as they were called in Finland, after James Dean) and punks always had fights (the teddies being the more ignorant ones). I once got smashed on the face when I turned up to the youth club in my mum's beautiful dress from the 50's. They thought I should stick to putting safety pins through my cheek.

Anywhoo, check out the soundtrack for American Graffiti for some great tunes.
Some of my faves: Eddie, Gene, Buddy, Chuck etc, Teddy and the Tigers (Finland, 70's), Melrose (Finland, 80's-90's)(if you can call them rockabilly, they're maybe too rock'n'roll), and at the moment Go-Getters (just brilliant live!!!), local Bumblebees and from the punk era King Kurt, Guana Bats and all the psychobilly bands and of course the Cramps, the most wonderful of them all. I could dig up some more, but it's time for beddie-bye-byes.

Talk about this. Never heard of her.

You serious?? She's considered the best female rockabilly singer and certainly among the best rockabilly artists in general.

Investigate tracks like "Fujiyama Mama" and "Let's Have A Party" pronto.
