my first car was a mini and it was the most awesomeest car ive had. It only had a 1.3 ltr engine in it but cos it weighed less than my fridge it fuckin flew, used to beat V8's in a straight line, and on a windy road, I would leave ANY car for dead as it glued to the road like you wouldnt believe. steering wheel was only 3/4 turn until full lock, so where u pointed the wheel thats where it would go, no matter how fast u were going.
looked very similar to this (http://www.geocities.com/kimmiz1/miniclubmans.gif)
mine had bigger wheels tho.
I ended up driving it into the side of a truck that ran a red light at about 70km/h. (40mph).
I had to be cut out of the car, everyone was amazed i wasnt dead. my knee's still fucked tho.
i'd call myself a car enthusiast. probably the only one out there without a license.
of course the favourite's are the euro supercars but if we're talking affordable power beasts - i favour jap cars more than muscle/V8. big fan of anything with AWD (go rallye!)

I'm into Volkswagens.
I'm not really into them, but been driving them for 11 years now. Current one has over 266K kllicks and is getting all rusty, but the engine is still good. Most of the time I'm too intoxicated to do anything with it, though..

180sx's sweet!, Over here we dont get CA18DET's or SR20DET's. My neighbor has a 240SX(same thing) with the KA24 and he turbo'd it over the summer. Its pretty quick, torquey. yeah 12's is pretty quick, I have a mustang in that range.

I like classic cars. My dad's a car enthusiast and he used to take me to car meets all the time, and sometimes I'd help him with his car. When I was 13 he had me help him overhaul his engine and put in duel-exhaust for his '67 Plymouth Barracuda convertible. Don't ask me what I did, because I have no idea, I just followed directions. :p
I do love my dad's car though.

Mine's a 2003 mk 4, at the moment it's just chipped (REVO), running on H&R coilovers with 18" Audi RS4 rims which are sprayed graphite. The car is reflex silver. Looking for either a full leather interior in black, or I may get Carisma to do a re-trim for me. I also toyed with fitting a full TT dash and instruments, just depends if I can find a good one being broken.
Mk 1s are sweet, I used to have a 1983 Mk 1 Gti. I blew the original 1600 cc engine and replaced it with a Mk 2 1800 cc 16v. Sadly it went when I got divorced.

Yup Alot of them were in the nissan trucks but the 240 recieved them too. 89-90 models had a KA24E SOHC 3V and 91 and up had the KA24DE DOHC. Over here most people swap out to an SR and barely anyone uses a CA. But making a KA-T is getting more popular. They make some serious torque compared to an SR. Stock block turbo KA's have hit 11's lol. If your curious www.ka-t.org has alot of info/video's and if you search ka-t on streetfire.net there's some video's.

damn, the specs on that are incredible. I'm just wondering if it has any kind of notorious grumble for the engine. If not, they should maybe put a fake one in it.

I'm looking at a BMW E46 M3 coupe tonight:cool:
But I probably won't buy it, I'm more interested in buying a house, so the Golf may have to hang on for a while yet.

Yea, they do fly. There are faster cars out there than the M3 but not many that drive as well.

of the 30 + cars I've owned my last 4 were 90 town car , 94 Mark VIII , 93 Mark VIII , and now my newest 2001 town car .
I still have both the marks but one is for sale.
I'm going to miss the speed of the Mark VIII it's hard to drive this slow it rolls fast.

The only reason I didn't buy it was when I was looking through all the paperwork, I noticed it has had the VANOS unit replaced twice. And sadly, I don't have enough knowledge to mess with variable valve timing (and if it totally fails you're looking at the cost of a fulll engine rebuild).
