Especially if you have a princess-y type cat that gets carried to her food. How would she deal with a ktten, specifically? Any tips or pointers? I think it's time for our family to grow.

Rub the kitten in alcohol, the princess will take a liking to it real quicklike!

Do you think a porno starring Janine Lindemulder (who bangs guys now) and Rocco Siffredi ( who has fucked pretty much everything he's met) would be 'couples' material?
Oh yeah, and serious suggestions about the cat.

Well, if it's a kitten it's a good idea to keep her in just a specific room for about a week, and let them sniff each other through the door. Once the older cat finally stops her bitching and moaning, it'll be okay to let the kitten out as long as you keep an eye on the both of them. The princessy cat will have to deal, it usually takes about 2 weeks for her to get used to the fact that there's someone new.
I don't know why I assume kitties are female all the time, I just do.

When I got gray cat, I just sorta set him next to orange cat. Both of their tails got puffy, and they sniffed each other. No real chaos ensued. There was some fighting after a bit but it was play fighting. Boy cats get along pretty well with each other.
Laras cat is sweet, but its a girl...and she is a bitch when it comes to the others. Usually orange cat just provokes her now by swatting at her.
If you have a girl cat now, get another girl cat.
Its not really a necessity to keep a close eye on them. Cats have a natural way of doing this sort of thing. They wont kill or maim each other. Its just a power struggle.

Cool man. You know I'm a little bit cooler than this, wearing my headset and sipping cordial.
I was going to wear it to work, with the headphone jack in my fly.

very carefully! LOL
actually, I don't know. with my cat and my roommate's cat, we kind of just let them see eachother while we were holding them, then set them on the ground. they fought a lot, but it was mainly just establishing dominance-type stuff. George is older and was bigger, so mochi just laid down. but she grew bigger than him, so they have kind of an awkward dynamic now. I'm pretty sure mochi's in love with george, but he's gay.

Nice add. I'm hoping Bonnie (aka Q.T McFluffington) will just play pretend mother. Although I'm not allowed to be doing it, I'm probably just going to bring a kitten home. I hope my next thread isn't "How do you pick locks?"

We introduced our old (now deceased) female cat to my current female cat, and old female cat was pissed for quite some time and growled at me a lot when I came in smelling like current female cat.
Now my parents got a boy cat, and my current female cat is pissed at him. Well, she was for about 2 weeks, she's warmed up to him. But she had the same reaction.
I think female cats are just bitches in general when it comes to new cats. But they used to go fucking insane when the unneutered alpha-cat of the neighborhood used to come near the house, they'd scream and turn and attack each other. Something about all that testosterone they could smell.

Yeah, I thought it would be compunded by us pampering the shit out of this one we have now. She sleeps tucked under the duvet, like a little person and shit. :o

at first it was like the girl cat kind of came into the apartment and took over like a little she-hitler and ran a small third cat reich but eventually there was a counter-revolution staged by orange cat and now shes sheltered herself in an underground bunker and is often swatted around when she goes to poop or eat.

hmm. is she a dangerous cat at all. i know joe's cat couldn't be around any other living creature because she would maul it to death. this includes other cats, dogs, small children. but i don't think there are any cats as bad as that.

How to introduce a new cat:
1) You throw it into the wall really hard
2) You give it a swirly
3) You feed it aquarium pebbles
4) You pee on it
5) You pop it in your microwave for 20 seconds

Ease the two cats into eachother, otherwise they will fight like crazy.

just let the cats sort out their hierarchy, they'll get over it
my two cats did previously and my two cats now have done too, a little hissy here or there but mostly they can coexist with the occasional rub, sniff, and cuddle

You could stuff them both into one of those little kitty kits with the door and the house like shape and handle. They'd pretty much have to get along in there.
