Well after I saw them sitting next to Russell at the Hip hop Honors I was pretty sure they were cool with each other, but this makes it official. The Boys are being filmed for a commercial on anti-islamic prejudice, directed by Simmons. Thats the type of shit I love to hear.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that their cool with each other, but the boys are definitely taking the high road and facing their inevitable run-ins with Simmons with maturity and respect. I remember an interview from '04 or '05 in, I think, "Interview Magazine", wherein they enlisted Russel to interview the Beastie Boys. Even through the text I could sense the tension. Their sarcasm was a little less playful, and Simmons was blatantly trying to push some buttons here and there. But over a racial issue, It's pretty much a given that the Boys would agree to work with him again, given it's for a positive cause.

During an interview after an Atlanta radio station private show promotion, they talked about their relationship with Russel.
Yauch reminded Mike of all the jabs they took at Simmons in TT5B. And they said something like, we'll always make fun of Russel.

Here's the actual quote...
Horovitz: We'll be taking shots at Russell for the rest of time. And we love Russell. And he loves it.

of course Russ loves it. the more exposure he gets, the better known he is. I mean, even bad publicity is good publicity.
