Are all these premier league championships and what not decided by penalty kicks too?
I tried to enjoy the World Cup. I was very disappointed to see that it decided by penalty kicks. That shit was weak.
Schottenhiemer should be fired today.
What about the idiot that headbutted the Patriot running back after they had sacked Brady? What about the punt returner that fumbled for the Chargers? What about the defensive back that intercepted the ball and then had the ball stripped? The players made some really dumb mistakes that were not coaching related. You cannot give the Patriots an inch or they will take a foot.
I am rooting for a Indy vs Saints Super Bowl. I want Peyton (Manning that is--not Sean) to get his ring.

nah, no games decided on penaltys in the league. just the cup
twas a poor world cup in the end admittedly. the group stages were great, but it began to die off. final was poor until Zizou tried to put his head through your mans chest.

All very true, going for it on 4th & 11 when your kicker is in his range and he's been perfect from home, not a good decision. Challenging a play that had no chance of being overturned cost them a crucial time out.
I think the Colts will be there, but I would rather see Brady try to juke Urlacher again.
I just heard that Marty is holding a press conference very soon. Your wish might come true.

I think any of my Americano Football talk would be along the lines of "YEAH, NEW ORLEANS GONNA BE EATING BEAR THIS WEEKEND YEAAAAHHHH!!!!" over and over.
And also Nut Numbing Cold + The Saints = lots of fumbles. Let's hope that's not the case.

I'm afraid I agree. The Saints have way too much offensive firepower and the Bear's D is lookin pretty weak these days.

I love how people talk smack about the NFL and the like wearing protective gear. They're getting smashed constantly by guys that weight up to nearly 400 lbs, not by some 150 lb dude that looks like he smokes meth for breakfast. I'm not saying soccer isn't violent or whatever but if you had to choose between going up against the nastiest soccer dude and Tank Johnson, I'm thinking you'd choose mr. soccer.

If you need to know more about Tank google his name. He has been in the news for more than football lately. I find it hard to stomach that they would allow him to play.

The Eagles pissed away so many opportunities to win that game, I'm in no mood to talk football today.
BTW, Is anyone else sick to death of Peyton Manning Commercials?
When Bush got lit up on the 2nd play I thought the Eagles were going to win.
Why did it take 30 seconds to run a play down by 3, with 2:30 left in the game?
I was at the last play-off game against Philly. I'll never forget how obnoxious some of those bastards were tooting their little horns. I was hoping you Eagle fans would come back to Chicago with your little green horns.

I was pretty impressed with Rex's performance yesterday. I'm glad they went up against a team they pretty much raped early in the season, because if they hadn't, I don't know how confident they would've been going into the game.
I'm sorry to say that the fact that 1) the line wasn't protecting Rex from the blitz, and 2) the defense couldn't do shit to stop Shaun Alexander leads me to believe that they won't be making it past that Saints. I don't think it's impossible, but highly unlikely.

lol, yeah Tank Johnson would probably shoot you or something. I agree with the protective shit. Yeah pretty much the majority of NFL players are going to be tougher then Pro Soccer players but thats because you have to be tough in NFL not just fast. I dont know how tough NFL guys would be against some of the NHL guys or even NBA.

The protective gear is why football players can hit the shit out of eachother. Soccer players wouldn't last a second if they started hitting eachother like they do in football. My biggest bitch about soccer is the players act like they lost a limb when they merely get pushed to the ground. Might be part of the game to get injury time or something but it just looks weak.

I thought about making a football playoffs thread but I figured if I predicted an Indy win (I'm right so far) I would have been heavily criticized.
Anyways, the Eagles looked primed to steal one in N'Orleans but I have a feeling the Saints are the team of destiny this year. Coming up is the toughest challenge of the year with the Bears. If it's crap weather the Bears, who are more used to bad weather conditions (or should be) might have an edge but Rex has looked shakey for weeks. Too late to go with anyone else.
My prediction: Saints by 10
Once again the AFC is down to the fucking Patriots and the Colts. Thank god it wasn't LT....thank god it wasn't LT. The Colts D has been playing way out of character, as has Peyton Manning. That being said, Tom Brady isn't very impressive and I can see this coming down to a fuckin field goal again. I hope it's Viniteri who kicks it.
My prediction: Colts by 3
I'm the first to say Peyton has looked horrible in the playoffs so far, but this game is not going to come down to who's the better QB, it's going to come down to field goals. Being in the RCA Dome, I pray to god those Indy fans are insanely loud and fluster New England. If Brady gets in the zone and they can go up by two possessions, they will kill the clock and the Patriots will get to the Super Bowl, again...
Flyin' Brian Westbrook appears to have been a good choice for fantasy RBs this year. Who knew? I did.

Good Rex gives them a better chance than Good Greise. Let's hope Evil Rex doesn’t show up. They got out coached Sunday. Aside from stressing the importance of going after the ball at all costs, I still don't think Lovie is a good coach. I'd take Sean Payton over him all day long.
I wouldn't bet on the game. I can't logically give reasons why the Bear should win. I do know that the Bear can take the ball away better than any team I have ever seen. #54 will be the best player on the field Sunday and I'm hoping he takes over the game like he has before.

Yeah their a lot of face painted mouth-breathers in the states that watch football, there are also some intelligent, good people that enjoy both the psychology and physicality of the game. One I know of. I can't remember the cat's name. It was a player from the Lions. It was of course against The Mighty Bear. Legend has it Butkis was standing over him screaming at him to get up. He thought he was faking an injury because the Lions were out of time outs and he was trying to buy them some time. He had a heart attack, probably from seeing Butkis coming at him. I can remember at least 5 guys that have been paralyzed.
