C&C is back, looking better than ever. I haven't been into real-time strategy games that much, but I played some previous C&C games in my time, and dabbled in Starcraft, but easily got frustrated with both series. However, I think it's time for me to get back into C&C.
The situation is interesting this time, as there are three colored zones, (blue, red, and yellow) each controlled by each of the three factions. These factions are GDI, (Global Defense Initiative) Brotherhood of Nod, and an unnamed alien race. By now, the planet has been all but consumed by Tiberium, the blue-colored, poison-like substance, which is also used to power up their various technologies.
To elaborate more on these colored zones: They are geographical zones based on the level of infestation of Tiberium, as well as the destruction and chaos from the past two Tiberium Wars. The Blue Zone is controlled and protected by GDI, which houses countries similar to the US, Germany, and Japan. The Red Zone is controlled by Brotherhood of Nod, and is exposed to more Tiberium. The Yellow Zone is completely uninhabitable, covered with Tiberium everywhere, and also is the base of the unnamed alien visitors.
C&C3 will be for both PC and Xbox 360. I don't think my PC would be able to handle its graphics at its present configuration, so I may just settle for the Xbox 360 version. The Xbox 360 developer has commented that they're working on making the XBox 360 version stand on its own two feet, not being known as an inferior version. I remember playing C&C 64 for the Nintendo 64, and it was fun, to be honest. The use of the analog stick was fine. Certainly, the graphics of C&C3 on the XBox 360 won't be on par with the PC version. Both versions release on March 28, 2007.
