I feel like one of the three little pigs. Or perhaps Dorothy in Wizard of Oz.

It is sooooooooo windy today. Ava and I (and supermarket trolley) nearly got whisked up into the air this morning and now two fence panels have just blown down in my garden.

Great.

Just heard from my friends back where I come from (SW Germany) they all get to leave work earlier to get home safely through the woods. Here, there is no trees... :( The dust devils are goin crazy though and its supposed to go all out tonight...

it is quite severe. sorry for your troubles :( three little pigs made me LOL though.

it's snowing here. back home - as in the isle of lewis - i LOVED extreme weather. loved it! it was fucking awesome. tiles would come off roofs, electricity would go off for days, school would be cancelled. apart from the time when a family got swept into the ocean fleeing a storm in their car (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highlands_and_islands/6250385.stm).. that's not quite so cool :(

I love the rain and the wind. I will miss the roaring 40's if I ever leave tasmania :(

There have been some deaths but I was out yesterday and somewhat disappointed. Here's hoping the meteor and earthquake won't suck...

It wasn't so bad here everywhere, even though a toddler was killed here by a dislodged terrace door :( I think Germany had about a dozen casualties... I was expecting major stuff, flying cows, trees etc. I parked my car far from any trees. But amidst all the houses the wind was no longer gale force in the inner city. At midnight we even had our living room window open. This morning I saw that the wind smashed the double glass door of the subway station near my work. It was much worse for people in forested areas...
I hear you had to deal with massive rainfall, too.

Yeah, in Berlin it wasn't too bad either. Although, to live right under the cracking rooftop was a little spooky. :)
And I heard a thunder yesterday evening which lasted about 5 minutes. I never heard something like that before.
But some giant steel beam has fallen off the new central station and now they closed the whole station because
it might break down...

I read 15 people died in the UK, which seems amazing.

My mum opened the back door of her house and a slightly open window upstairs smashed, but that's about it, and that has happened too much to be a novelty.
I can see snow on the hills now though, it's making me feel all Christmassy and cosy.
