So does this mean that you have to start looking for another job? Or you'll travel..

sorry about that.. surely they must arrange some alternative child-care arrangements though? there will be. unless they've gone into liquidation or something, they have a duty to provide other options to their customers.

the university i work for.. their private child care provider for all the staff/students went into liquidation recently and it was a bit dodge for us in the press office. it was so sudden. no alternative arrangements at all. it was almost going to be me standing at the nursery door going "um. woops. no nursery, LOL! go back home. until when? well, i don't know!" lots of children without anywhere to go. chaos!

although it was a private company, the university worked super hard to find a different provider somehow within the week and offered advice about how parents (whose money for the coming month had cheekily still been taken by the company the day before they went into liquidation) could get some cash back.

No we're staying on Long Island, actually moving closer to where I live, but the daycare thing is really gonna suck. They were at least $100 A WEEK cheaper than anywhere else we looked at.

maybe your kid could get a job where you work....child labor laws be damned!

goodluck finding a safe and reliable place for your childcare!

When I have a kid I'm gonna stuff em in the closet of my office....i'm sure it'll save me some bucks

Sorry, man. That's sad.

Maybe the kid'll benefit more from a different place. Hopefully something really nice will come of this.
