Not sure if this has been posted before, if it has...fuck it.
You guys got a mention in the New York Times right here (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/18/business/media/18adco.html?_r=1&ref=business&oref=slogin):
In another discussion last week on the site of the band the Beastie Boys, fans of the group pondered the prevalence of the ads and in particular the woman on the rooftop, who appears to have cornrows in her hair and an unusual body shape for a model.

And you would have been paid for it.

Its journalistically unethical to pay someone for a quote or an interview. Remember the Private Lynch scandle?
Just a heads up from a J major. (y)

Yep. You ask for permission and if you get shot down, then you get the old "was reached for comment" line. But since this is a public forum, they don't have to get an agreement from us.

It would have been way cooler if the NYT article had been titled "Do these ads make you want to stab someone in the eye?"

ack! scary!
It's not scary, they just google searched and found this site.
I think it's cool that with all of the shit that BF gets for talking about nothing, we get the mention when it comes to a random topic non-related to the Beastie Boys.

What next......BBMB Boobs in Playboy?
No wonder they charge 5 bucks for the NY Times Sunday paper. Journalism at its best. I hear they are quoting bloggers on the Simpson's webpage in response to Bush's escalation of troupes.........
Amid dropping public approval for the Iraq war, President Bush said Thursday the fight against terrorism must continue there because it is the center of a terrorist movement to "intimidate the whole world." One Simpson fan responded by saying, "DOH!, Hey, Moe, gimme another Duff.

It raises the BBMB's status and simultaneously lowers the NY Times. I just wish that they would've written it in text speak.

There is a lot of stuff that the NYT could use here. A daily page about Dorothys adventures.
or Echewta's chocolate recipes in the Lifestyle section.
Turd's commentary would make George Will look like a liberal commie.

enree is out to attend Art Buchwald's funeral.
Or Enree's Advice column.
Cookiepuss's gossip page.
Mickill on Music.
kll on housing market.
Skinnybutphat and Q on sports.
Who is Q?
Turd would only cover the NBA. He hates everything else.

I can't believe no one has linked the thread (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=75657)being discussed. I'm all tired and a tad hungover, it hurt me to get out and go find it. :(
That's kind of cool though. Weird, yet cool. Good that LOL got an ego boost. I worry about his lack of self confidence sometimes.
