I keep hearing about Hound Dog the film with Dakota Fanning. They are saying that she is too young for certain scenes.

I remember Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver and she is fine. Now that I think of it, Natalie Portman in The Professional was risky.

Yeah, I've read about the Dakota Fanning thing. Her boyfriend lures her into a barn to get raped by some man. Supposedly the rape scene is just closeups of her hands and face.

The crap of it is that the movie is supposedly really bad, and might just go straight to DVD. Seems like if you're an actor -- and an underaged one, at that -- if you do something that's maybe pretty personal or emotionally draining, you'd like it to at least be for something more worthwhile.

But maybe people are just selling her short and assuming she's not mature enough to handle herself. I doubt that you reach 12 years old without having at least some idea of what rape is. I'd think that by that age your parents would've explained a bit more about the context of "don't talk to strangers," etc.

Eh, not that great. I have a feeling you will think the same - it was a good concept and all but lacked depth. It was like they just skimmed the surface of how good a film it could have been. I don't know though, everyone I know loved it so maybe I'm too critical?

Chapter 27 sucked BADLY. It was mostly "hey look how much Jared Leto gained for this role!" and "Hey listen to Jared Leto do narration in a shitty accent!". Bad bad bad.

There was a great film from New Zealand called Eagle Vs. Shark that I saw for my last film yesterday. Amazing - it's kind of like what Napoleon Dynamite was trying to be, but without being annoying, and more geniune.

I saw 20 films in all, though it felt like more. Good times!

Yeah everyone like freaked out about it, I didn't really pay much attention. At one point all these people were standing outside some music cafe and more and more people were gathering obviously waiting for someone to come out, so I stood around for a while. Then I heard it was Dakota Fanning and I'm like...uh, big woop.

I did see John Cusack and Bono though, that was pretty cool.

Hey DandyFop, did you see or hear about a film called Joshua? A local Amarillo man directed the film and it was picked up by Fox Searchlight for 3.1 million buckaroos. I read about the guy in Amarillo's Sunday paper. It is a supense thriller.
