Sublime

A frathouse favorite. People seem to think that its really tragic that Brad Nowell died prior to this albums release but fail to acknowledge that they probably would have not been nearly as popular if he was still alive. You're guaranteed that any Saturday night on the ride to a bar, theres at least two cars making the same voyage with a group of lacrosse players or sorority sluts all singing "caress me down" as loud as possible. Their only redeeming qualities are "Date Rape" and the fact that they wont make any new music LOL.

I remember how everyone jocked them for writing an album and having a deal when they were all in their early teens...but as they got older they still wrote the same stupid half ass lyrics. Then everyone thought it was so brave and heartfelt of Daniel Johns to become an anorexic so he could beat it and write a song about it. Also, that "Anthem for the Year 2000"...pfft, they had to have known how stupid and dated that crap would sound after 2000 came and went. Basically they would be alright if they could write a song worth a shit, but Australians dont notice this since they have had like 6 bands to achieve worldwide success and they're way too proud.

this dork is on some role model bullshit. Hes like the 2006 Will Smith with his "no cussin positive message" raps. Everyone jocks him to high heaven because he raps about different subject matter and not always talking about hoes and guns...which, for the record, is the stereotypical white viewpoint of the average gangsta rap song who fails to examine the lyrics beyond face value. I wouldnt be suprised if he had a track out there about balancing your checkbook and brushing your teeth. Beyond that, people fail to realize he was kicking gun raps on Arista a few years back, but now he spends 16 bars rapping about how he smells and how people give him hugs because he has a lovely duck. Metaphors or otherwise, that shit is stupid.

Dude......come on. Any pecker slapper that has spawned from a boy band should not be given any credit whatsoever.........ever. It shouldn't matter how catchy his shit is. I know I shouldn't dwell, but it's asswipes like him and his ilk that gained success being total douchebags will indeed allow the trend to surface again twenty years down the line. Fuck that.

Sidenote: I'm happy you dig Girl Talk, I've seen Gillis play countless shows around here the past few years, and if you ever get the chance to partake, do it. It's pretty crazy/awkward.

I went on a family trip to Arkansas (free timeshare lolol) when I was like 9 and that spring "Sowing the Seeds of Love" was on MTV every twenty minutes and since Arkansas had fuck all to offer in entertainment, I watched it a lot and it stuck in my head for years and thus began my Tears for Fears enjoyment.

The self proclaimed "drama king" is basically a complete fruit. Like most DJs, he feels it necessary to shout throughout tracks...but on top of that, he also busts out what I like to refer to as the patented Kayslay Faggot Alarm. Also, his voice sounds muffled and distorted like he always has half a sammich in his mouth, and the "ON AIR" sign flashes on and he half chokes and begins speaking, spitting food remnants all over the microphone.

You couldnt even go fishin in a conventional stream. They dug a hole in the ground and fed fish into it. Seriously they had this machine that dumped out fish into the pond to catch.

Btw, why have a timeshare in Arkansas?

because for a period of time in the 80s my parents pretended to be interested in them to get free shit. I dunno.

damn, now theres a waste of sperm I havent thought about in years.

"Party Hard" seemed more like an extended beer commercial than a real song the first time I ever heard it...like I fully expected a verse about the waters of the rockies and full bodied taste. I cant figure out what the fuck that tools deal is, anyway. Every third song he writes has "party" in the title, he plays the piano a bit, smashes himself in the face with a doorknob, and tells kids to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS like some kind of inspiring rolemodel.

Well actually, he did all that stuff...nowadays he probably hangs out at the Greyhound bus terminal playing a Schroeder sized piano for spare change.

I dont recall ever criticizing your posts, in fact generally I agree with most of what you enjoy.

buuuuuttt, just cuz...off the artists listed on the first page I like (all/some of the music of) the following:

rage against the machine- dude, unless you've still got zits and an awkward voice, there's no reason you should like them
stone temple pilots- cool
tool (undertow)- undertow? Why? It's a good album but repetitive. Wake up and smell the 10,000 days man.
the who- Yeah
justin timberlake- hahhhhaaa, geigh
beck (pre sea change)- The Information is pretty damn good man.
black keys (what I have heard)- I'm limited on my knowledge of them
cypress hill- ok
portishead- ok
lif- hmm?
vadim- ?
RJD2- ok
NIN- yessir
queen- yepp
queens of the stone age- awww yeah
Gangstarr- limited
daft punk- not sure
Jay-Z- yeah
Gorillaz- yeah
Smif-N-Wessun- ?
Big L- ?
Xzibit- ?
Clipse- ?
Shadow- yep
MF Doom- yep
Blahzay Blahzay- ?
Redman- ok
MC Serch- yep
the cure- for sure
bowie- oh yeah
beatles- eh, I think when they started growing their hair was the best for them
talking heads- yeppers
janes addiction- yes
tears for fears- good call
avalanches-?
death in vegas-?
felix da housecat-?
prince- yeah
dead kennedys- Aww yeah!!.

I'd say you have a good choice in music man. Some of the bands I'm sorta unsure of, perhaps cause I'm not familiar with them.

I'd say my tastes are better than yours though.

i also love this video and song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RukBVmNvns&feature=related). adam ant is hot. 3:29 is my favorite.. that's a great bridge... sexy fucker. side A of that album is really nice... but side B sucks... ever had that happen? i'd rather all the great songs be together than spread apart though

DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYIN'?
