That is really a slow snail's pace. Did they sleep during the trip? But your cops are pretty sharp even if it's big ass place or is that an "along the coast" thing?

well apparantly new south wales and victorian cops are harsher than queensland cops. if you exceed 13km/h over the speed limit you can get in a little trouble but if you're doing 123 on the highway here most cops wont care, but if they're an asshole you'll get a $50 fine and lose 1 demerit point ( you get 12 points on an open licence)

brisbane to sydney is about 1000km's and should take you 11 hours max to get there stopping for lunch and refuelling and what not. they only drove to newcastle which is 800km's south and it still took them 13 hours, or so i've been told. the driver is prolly the more conservative douche i've ever met and has never enjoyed the thrills of driving a company car :D

we really need our own autobahn

whatwhat

I got busted at 15k's over the limit not long ago, cost me $215 and 3 points

I may just move to QLD! That shit cost me a new leather bag
that speed over would still cost you $150 and 3 points. well it would've 3 years ago. i've been pretty lucky to not get a speeding fine in a while.

i do know that 29 over is $250 and 4 points tho :(

yeah, i've heard we're more lenient here. 40+ is an automatic loss of licence although you can get it back ridiculously easy in court. when i went to court to get my licence back everybody at the hearing got their licence back. one guy lost 9 points for speeding, talking on a mobile and not wearing a seatbelt. a 17 year old was caught doing 159 in a 100 zone, and some bogan in a wifebeater, stubbies and thongs lost 12 points and gave the dodgiest excuse ever and still got his licence back. " when a horse gets let out of the stable it just wants to run, that's the same thing with me and my truck" and then he went on about how they make cars that do 300+ and said he was only doing half that

our court system is a joke, lol

so stupid how australians only use km and don't have a word for 10km, or if they do i never heard of it. and you generally speak ml instead of cl etc. just comes off annoying to me. but yeah whatever at least it's the metric system (y)

edit: i guess no languages have a word for 10km except for a few. still annoying enough to deserve a mention.
