And she told me that before she does, I can give her a stupid haircut because it's gonna all come off anyways.
Ideas/suggestions?

Give her a hair cut like a bald dude that only has hair around the sides of his head but, none on the top. Then go out on the town and if anyone asks what the hell is up with her hair just be like "what the hell is up with YOUR hair?!?!" (y)

Shave little spots all over and have uneven parts of hair with some really bad looking bangs.

The horse-shoe pattern you mean? Yeah, I was thinking of that actually!
Or, if anyone watches some of the newer Family Guy's here, I was thinking of a haircut like Peter's retarded co-worker.

why, pray, is she shaving her head? militant lesbianism? attention? modern art? fancying a change? imminent chemotherapy?
my flatmate shaved off all her hair when she had cancer just to get rid of it before it started falling out. i don't think she did any crazy style just for the craic, but she enjoyed chopping it all off and the like. but the scalp is very sensitive. you can't just shave that fucker. take it easy!

Save yourself the time to sweep up all the hair and put a stupid wig on her head.

fancying a change?
She's always wanted to do it, just because. She has short hair now and it's dyed so she just wants to shave it all off and start anew...and if she likes it shaved, she's gonna keep it that way. We're buzzing it to a quarter-inch today.
She bought a pretty nice wig that she's going to wear everywhere except when she's with people she knows, so as not to scare the childrens.

one of my friends shaved her head to support her sister who was going through chemo and balding. that was a nice thing for her to do, be a baldy with her sick sister.
I don't know I think your friend should donate her hair to locks of love if it's long enough to do so. I think they'll take dyed hair.

Why aren't you stopping her? You should be like "hey, ugly lesbian, stop trying to look like a man!"
That's what a good friend would do.

She said it's too short to. It's very short right now. She said the only thing she could donate her hair to is possibly a bird who needs more material for a nest, and if she did that it may die from all the toxins that are in her hair dye.
And I'm not stopping her because she's getting a wig that's pretty awesome looking. If she was dead-set on keeping it shaved and being that way all the time I'd be like HEY. NO. BAD.
I've always wanted to cut someone's hair really stupidly too. :o

This is sort of how I started shaving my head. The lady I lived with screwed up my haircut badly, so I just shaved it off rather than live with the havoc she had wrought. :)

This is one part I don't quite understand. If you're going to willingly shave your head, you would think it would be to show off your ballsiness. She may as well keep her hair if she's just going to wear wigs. Who cares if the people she knows see her bald if she's not going balls out.

Nah -- I think that's smart, if she's in some profession where customers might be unsettled by her appearance.
I may be overly sensitive since I spent 2006 with my mom going through chemo with no hair and hating her wigs.

you can't go wrong with a mohawk. If I ever got the balls, I would do it.

Yeah, her job. She works with older people and she tried to run it past her bosses, they said she needed a wig.
As for public, I honestly don't know what she's gonna do. Knowing her, she'd probably just leave it bald because she's got tough skin. She seems to really want it, so I don't see why she wouldn't. Plus, no one in their right minds would make fun of a bald chick because they probably would figure she had cancer.

Ah.
Yeah -- I've never seen a woman who's going through chemo wear a wig well. I think it's because they look sick, but the head of hair is disproportionately unaffected or something.
Wigs are usually made sort of overly full, too; you'd think wigmakers might try to construct them with more realistic imperfection built in or something.

My coworker just came back from having a few months off to get chemo. She has a wig, it looks pretty good. I couldn't tell it wasn't her actual hair at first.

the cheap ones look bad. you've got to spend big bucks to get a good one.
i shaved my head when i was 17, but with a 3 guard. so not shaved shaved. it was pretty damned short though. turns out i have a really, really white scalp. i've always done that sort of thing just on a spur of the moment feeling. i think i decided to the day before, and woke up and did it the next morning. that's why it's so hard for me to keep trying to grow my hair out now.

either cheap or expensive wigs are going to itch, get hot and be a nuisance at some point. at least she's doing it before the summer temperatures make it uncomfortable.
i, too, shaved half of my head (the left side) when I went through a punk phase when I was a teenager and left the right side long. growing it out was the worst part because you get to a point where the hair won't quite lay down, but it's too long to not look like it's just some super poofy buzzcut. weird.

^reaaaaally?? pics!
yeah, my hair's so full that it looked poofy and weird within like a month. ugh i hated having to put product on it all the time. and it didn't look so cute because it was all the same length.
