This is an important safety announcement.

HAND SANITIZERS ARE FLAMMABLE

There is a warning on all bottles, be aware when around any spark or flame.

Many of us are using handsanitizers on a regular basis. I can see that not just a smoker may be @ risk. If you are lighting a gas grill, or around an open flame on a stove.


I'm sure that smokers would have the greatest risk, so beware & let your hands be completely dry. Alcohol has to evaporate completely.

Clothes are good.

This evening I was preparing an acid bath. Little did I know that there was a fucking hole in my glove. Acid doesn't feel good as it fills the fingertips of your gloves. So I immediately shook my hand and removed the offensive glove. While I was washing my hand, I looked down and realized acid had splashed onto the front of my jeans. Now I have several lovely bleached out splotches on my pants. Yay! But it could have gotten on my legs instead.

So in short, clothes = important safety gear.

The inmate's blood alcohol level was found to be more than four times Maryland's intoxication standard.

Me, because I have a baby, which means a) I have to change diapers sometimes in places where there is no sink for me to wash my hands, and b) she will do things like pick up whatever she finds on the ground, and then put her hands in her mouth, so I give her hands a quick rub with it every now and again.

However, I also used to carry it before I had a baby, because I might be out and about and stop to grab a sandwich and again, there might be no place for me to wash my hands. After I've been riding the bus, the tube, reading a paper, etc, I hardly want to touch food with my unclean hands, you know? So I would carry a little bottle of Purell in my handbag, or some wipe thingies.

I've only carried around hand sanitizer when I was in Korea and got the smallpox vaccine. I didn't want to inadvertently touch the band aid and then rub my eyes/face/crutch etc and have that crap spread. They showed us pictures of what would happen if we did :(
