I have 2 cats and when i bath them - they hate it. I dont do it often though. Only if they've got their coats really messy from mud (or something worse...) from being outside. Maybe twice a year tops.

I'd hate to think people regularly "spa" their cat just so it "smells all fresh"... And at least my cats get a "fighting chance" to scratch the shit out of me or escape my clutches - not shut in the equivelant of a "cat dishwasher".

That would be sick....

Yeah -- I've given cats I've owned in the past baths, as well, but it's pretty much only when necessary. The yowling is so sad.

I think part of the trick is to not have the water be too deep. It takes longer, but I think they feel a bit safer.

I live next to open countryside, my cats have plenty opportunities to roll in cowshit etc. It's rare for them to come home really manky but sometimes it happens.

Apart from that, yeah, they are way cleaner than any dog I've ever owned.

yeah, we give cats baths occasionally. they fucking hate it and piss everywhere. we have to shave cats sometimes too when they get really matted. i don't know why people even bring their cats in because they're really expensive to do. and we can never make them look nice.
