greetings beastie boys,

awaiting the new album like everyone else and i hope its gonna b hot - but lately the level of production has been - to be nice "sucky." after contemplating on what happened to you guys i have come down to the realization that as a group you must stop using the software REASON. please for the love of god stop using REASON and just go back to the sp1200 asr-10 and other samplers - and please pick up your instruments. word is this is what has been happening. but ever since REASON has entered your lives and eventually ours - the beastie boy sound i love has not been the same. every remix that adrock has made in the last yr practically blows. my plea - to stop using REASON.

farewell beastie boys,

luvmore chicova

i know what u mean..kinda...yes the beats are sucky with this "computer software" thingy you're talking about, and not ALL of adrock's remixes were lame some were pretty dope, TT5B has too many sucky beats though only some are good ones

The Rhymes were dope...the beats were wack.

ouch. perhaps an overstatement or two here. sucky is a pretty strong word; a little extreme. i think its the style of the beats you dislike more than the quality of the production, which is why I feel "sucky" may not be a justifiable claim. i wouldn't get too caught up on it though, I doubt we'll be seeing too much more of the TT5B sound in the future.

It was a great old school album with some tight beats. What a lame thread. No wonder they never frequent the board.

I'm inclined to disagree, but this is the most hated album. It's true.

Hey everyone, DJ Pioneer here. First time poster, long long time listener. I wanted to give my 2 cents on TT5B. Lyrics are definitely up-to-par for the most part. I have to agree with most on this thread - the beats are lacking. Many of the beats are repetitive, and I really wouldn't call it Old School. The drums just sound the so similar on every track, and it sounds very computerized (from the REASON program I assume) with minimal other sounds. I think Old School beats usually have a lot of flavor, which this is mostly lacking (beatwise).

However, I have faith in the guys that they'll switch it up for the next album! They still have their lyrics no doubt! Could you believe it's almost been 3 years since this album was released? Time flies.
