i dunno this girlie seems to be a goodie she is extreamly religous, feels guilty about her fame & asks her god to forgive her for getting so much attention:confused: she's 30 & lives with her parents

she's got some killer cheekbones, for sure.

mila kunis? naaah.

personally, i don't see the huge draw with angelina. her features are so hyperfemininininine and...pointy. sure she's striking, but damn. i dunno, i'd do Scarlett Johansson first.

you can't like, work it out scientifically, or mathematically. that's just a bit silly.

well i did a yahoo image search on her name, Aishwarya Rai, and all of her pics were really pretty, there are "prettier" girls out there for sure, they're just not famous. apperantly she's "the" actress in Bollywood

Auton

There have been multiple studies done on this - using babies to see what kind of faces they stare at for longer, doing precise measurements of the facial symmetry of classically beautiful people, testing mens' and womens' reactions to different images of different facial and body tyes. There actually does seem to be a sort of objectivity to beauty in the sense that the human body is wired to find certain physical characteristics attractive. And there's lots of people in this thread talking her down, but Aishwarya Rai really pushes my buttons. God damn. Her and Lisa Ray. Just delightful.

ha, that's funny peachy!

yes, that woman is generally considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world. it's not a measure of anything physical. it's a measure of public opinion.. and people seem to give her that title a lot.

people of mixed race are also generally deemed to be more 'attractive' than people of just one dominant 'race'. (i chose to focus on face research during the last year of my psychology half of my degree) genetically, they're meant to receive the 'better' elements of each different race and create one, well, supposedly perfect fusion. the less genetically similar the parents are, the lower the chance of them passing the same mutations they have to their child. also, mixed race people are deemed to look more 'healthy' which is a factor in how we choose partners evolutionally.

damn. i should have persued the psychology career, man! very interesting indeed.

anyway, i think cate blanchett and salma hayek are extraordinarily beautiful.

a lot of them bollywood/hollywood chicks are allll make up. I mean look at Carmen Electra. She can look decent when she is all photoshopped. but without the make up she is haggard (although her ass is still great).

the most beautiful women in the world are my moms and my wife, and salma hayek....and this chick that works on the first floor.

hey! where do you know her from? i only know her from sitting through hours and hours and fucking hours of the l word. the lesbian flatmate introduced me to it and i wasn't too impressed at first but seriously.. it's good! it's the only tv series i watch. it's my guilty pleasure. cheesy but has its good moments. my flatmate thinks sarah shahi is going to be the next breakout star a la jennifer lopez or eva mendez.

i don't think it's so easy to say 'beauty is subjective'. that brings you into a whole shatload of dense philosophical ideas (http://theblog.philosophytalk.org/2005/03/beauty_and_subj.html) that are way to blah to mention. omg if everything is subjective then should we give a shit what we say or do or think, if there is no objective right and wrong DOES THAT MEAN THERE IS NO NORMALITY! aghhhhh brain freeze.

a lot of women have the potential to be viewed as "beautiful"
there is a point where it stops being about facial ratios and appearance of healthiness and becomes a question of fashion, hairstyle and correctly applied makeup.

aanyway, what i'm saying is that you cannot ascertain who is the most "beautiful person in the world" like it's some mathematical formula. that idea is beyond stupid.

I'd always get drunk and tell her that I thought she was using too much and she'd always get pissed.

but.. the survey wasn't trying to provide a formula.
it was, in essence, just a presentation of results from a group of people who are more subjective in their rewarding of "most beautiful woman" title to that woman rather than another celebrity.
other people were 'subjective' about different women.
she just welcomed more, uh, subjectiveness.

Yes, Cybil shepard season. Don't even bother.

my wife cried when dana died...i felt kind of bad and actually missed her in the episodes that followed. Alice is probably the only decent character left on that show....and.....Max.

But yeah...I'm officially done with that show.

cmute and zorra i agree that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. the reason i think maria sharapova is possibly the most beautiful woman in the world is, well for starters most of the photos you see of her she's wearing no make up and is sweaty as a mofo. even in the most muscle tensing moment she's still pretty damn amazing. off court well she's just unbelievable.

she's 188cm and 59kgs but she gets a body like that from exercise instead of a diet of plastic surgery, vodka, cocaine and ecstasy like all the other hollywood role models out there. something like 80% of her income comes from photoshoots and commercials which some might think is a bad thing but really, because of that she's know as the top sports woman in the world, and most ppl in the world know who she is. when it comes down to it, who do you think parents want their teenage daughters to idolize? paris hilton, lindsey lohan, brittany spears? or maria. so yeah there's my rant, and thats why i thinks she's the most beautiful woman in the world

rock - omg. i really strongly dislike jenny. i hated all the fucking daydream scenes with her shitty poetry and crappy self-mutilation. it was so pseudo-pretentious it stinks. my flatmate has a huge crush on max but it's pretty obvious she's not so skilled as an actor yet. but she's finding her feet. all the lesbos are mad for her because she has such a distinctive male-or-female look.
