I wanted to curse a lot and that was me trying to keep it down.

I've been sick a lot lately. I have doctors notes for all the times I've missed at work and I REALLY did feel fucking awful. I'm still having the pain in my lymph-nodes constantly (and take a vicodin for the pain almost every other day and I'm running out). The doctors want to see me on Saturday and possibly again in a week.

But I'm within the probation period, and work told me that regardless, I'm supposed to be canned by now (they said it nicer than that). But instead they wrote me up and if I miss one more day in the next two months they have to let me go.

Well today I feel extra awful and all I want to do is eat a vicodin and pass out because this pain is throbbing. But I have to be here. Otherwise I'm canned.

I seriously feel like just saying FINE and moving on to another job or something because I feel so shitty.

This is my point. I didn't want to be gone so much. But it couldn't be helped. So if I must go I must go but wow is this a bad time for me to be sick and have no official job when applying to houses for rent...but argh.

Skye; I had strep and tonsillitis. My lymph nodes were swollen. This was a few weeks ago. My lymph nodes are still swollen. They give me really bad pain on and off. Sometimes the pain travels and I can barely walk upright because I can't stand it.

Doctors say so far that it could just be leftover infection they are fighting off and it could last another week, two max.

Thus, vicodin for when the pain gets really bad.

I feel ya, Crys. I got over a big cold about 2 weeks ago and I still have the remenants. And then in the past week, my face has swollen, so did my lymph node...went to the dermatologist, he said I had a case of eczema due to the cold weather. But then my neck started to lock up yesterday and I got a mild migraine and told my mom when she called so of course she freaks out and says OHMAGAD U HAV TEH MEININGITUS! so I was all :eek:. And I went in today and she said, no, you just have muscle pain, and the lymph nodes COULD be due to the eczema, she didn't know. So she took blood tests and is running them for everything and trying to figure out what's wrong with me!

I work for a contractor and the contract is a real bitch about giving time off when it's not accrued...but my manager is awesome and says "You don't even go out for lunch, so you're here 8.5 hours a day, every day, for the past 6 months. So don't even worry about taking off, we'll just pretend it didn't happen." So that's reaaaaaallly lucky.

my work encourages taking time off, and they even begin giving you time the very first month of work (8.4 hours vacation time, 8.4 hours sick time). after one year, you also get one personal day. i hardly use them, i just take other liberties, like starting my day at 9 instead of 8:30, and leaving early here and there or going in whenever i wake up if i don't have court and my calendar is clear. so, i don't get paid well, but no one complains about what i'm doing because the clients are happy. reading about your work makes me appreciate mine a little more.

i thought these guys were super nice and it was a fabulous company and now they're bitching when you have a doctor's note for all absences? how many are we talking about and how long have you worked there?

I don't think I've ever called in sick to work...I usually just go and deal with it and maybe leave early. I called in sick to a meeting last week though. stupid 8 p.m.-9 p.m. meeting. F that.

it's not mono, already been tested for it.

also, bef, they are super nice, my immediate co-workers and boss that is. But we do everything via a timeclock, and a new hire has to be terminated upon 3 missed days of work during his or her probation period. He actually let it slide hoping that no one would notice since he knew what the deal was on my end.

At first I thought I was just kinda sick okay two days max, sleep it off. But then it got worse. So bad that on that third day (happened to be a Friday) I said fine I'm seeing a doctor and he wrote me a note for both that day and the two previous days.

But then I went to see the doc at urgent care on that sunday because I was literally hunched over in pain, which again, was worse than before. I could barely walk without pain in my joints too. Before I went to the doc I literally was laying on the bathroom floor on the phone asking for someone to give me a ride to the urgent care.

When they gave me the shot of toradol in my ass, valium, and a prescription for vicodin I asked if it'd wear off in time for work the next day. The nurses overheard me and everyone laughed like "this girl is nuts." Doc said I wasn't going to work, or anywhere for that matter, for at least two days and wrote me a note and said REST OR ELSE.

Good times.
