Holy smokes, a reunion tour. One of the bands I've wanted to see but never got to!
And possibly Van Halen? Again?
Hurray for old peoples music!(y)

The Van Halen with Roth tour is a done deal. I didn't know The Police was yet, though. Is it confirmed?
Get ready for Chinese Democracy, by the way.

I believe The Police are confirmed. They have scheduled a date in the UK for a show. I believe they will release tour info in Feb.
Oh boy!

Scarlett Johannson's getting back together. She's got an album of Tom Waits songs coming out.

They've been rehearsing in North Vancouver for almost a month now.....I had read, more than once, that Sting said the only way he'd embrace a re-union would be if it was to "benefit a ethical or moral cause".....hmmmmmm?

His wallet?
I'm a bit cautious about this news. It's been a LONG time since Sting has kicked any sort of ass. I hope they know how to bring it back to the glory days.

that's what I'm saying, tantric hypocrite? I know that ice was broken when they were putting the commentary's together for "Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out"....I think it will be a great live event though, all 3 so very talented.....

I would see Van Halen with DLR. I saw them with Sammy Hagar a couple of years ago and it was highly entertaining. I'll drink a lot and re-live my high school memories with a bunch of other revolting old people. It makes me feel icky all over but if I'm really hammered it isn't too bad.
I hate Sting so much I'm not sure if I'll be up for Police. Plus Andy's gotta be 60. I like remembering the Police as they were.

No need to "get ready"
I can send you the MP3.
You and Axl. Promises, promises. ;)
Police will play at the Grammys (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/30/grammys.police.reut/index.html). Huh.

It would be so much cooler if they just drove around the planet and show up at clubs as openers. The whole ego driven reunion tour of what is 'spose to be "rock and roll" sort of stops me.
Something along the lines of say a surprise tour of 2007. Once a week your band just shows up unannounced at some venue. Pearl Jam used to do this about 5 times a year here in Seattle. You'd be sitting in a club and all of a sudden fucking Pearl Jam is playing. Even they have backed away from doing this.
If I was sitting in a nightclub and all of a sudden Van Halen walks on stage, starts cranking out "Running with the Devil" it would be so fucked up I'd actually start wearing their T Shirts.

This is close enough to the spirit! Free Ozzfest! (http://www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtvuk/07022007/ozzfest_tickets_will_be_free) Top that Van Halen and The Police!
maybe they'll join the bill.

Wow, I can see the competition for who is too cool to care about anything continues in full effect. Bravo.
I would pay almost anything to see the Police. I was too young when they were together.

I'm not too cool to care. I just really hate Sting. I not only saw Van Halen within the last two years, but I bought a "Van Halen Kicks Ass!" t-shirt. I think it cost about $40. Excessing drinking was involved.

You can win (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/02/08/music.thepolice.ap/index.html) a "date" to the rehearsals... if you're a member of Sting's website... I wonder if he charges for it like David Bowie...

I sometimes think I am the only person on earth who bought Stuart Copeland's 'The Equalizer and other stories' on vinyl(y)
I am an old motherfucker.....I saw the Police at William & Mary hall in Williamsburg. I believe it was 83 or 84. It was the last tour before they called it quits. I will watch them tomorrow night on the Grammy Awards.
