have they played there before?

this definitely looks like the strategy mike d. said they had for hello nasty where they signed up to play festivals to force themselves to finish the record.

have they played there before?.
Yeah, in 1995. There's even a topic I've made with a bootleg from that gig.

Yauch talked to Midzi about the last time they played there. (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showpost.php?p=925706&postcount=97) (y)

well i was hoping to hear that they were coming to Pittsburgh. Well at least Poland starts with a "P" so we're getting closer.

Someone needs to admit midzi backstage for this, just for all of her great work she has done for this place.

Everything is timin', you know what I'm sayin'? Right now it's Minton time. So, it's gon' happen. Regardless, it's gon' happen. I can promise you, I'm gon' be there if I'm around. It's like, it's all timin'. One love to the legendary one and only NFL crew. 139 and Lennox. Big Minton.

i guess that would be a good time to go back to my polish roots,
and visit warsaw and jaroslaw where my grandparents grew up.

Cool, man! Jaroslaw - lucky for You it's still in Poland;) Unlike the other fuckin' 50% which are in former USSR now.. Jaroslaw even has a team in our NBA (y)

Our Prime Minister's name is also Jaroslaw..

Thundercracker
01-29-2007, 08:05 PM
yeah, when the goddam nazis invaded in 1939, my grandpa ran away from there to the soviet territories, and they exiled him to sybir - that's where he met my grandma, who also migrated to the USSR after warsaw was occupied and also got exiled.

jaroslaw is a tiny little town compared to warsaw, right?

Wow, remember when Yauch was on line ages ago and Midzi asked him why Beasties never play eastern Europe? Wow. She deserves this so much. I thought it was a cruel joke when I saw the heading of this thread. Wow.

Wow!
Good news for midzi!!!
And I'd say it's good news for Europeans, cause usually the bands tour around all the festivals on at the same time, which could mean they could play at Peace & Love (http://www.peaceandlove.nu/) in Borlänge in Sweden! So far Iggy and the Stooges, Babyshambles, Hanoi Rocks and Backyard Babies are booked so there's still room for some bigger foreign names (last year New York Dolls, Patti Smith, Ed Harcourt, Robyn Hitchcock).
Roskilde (http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/) in Denmark is a week later, so far only RHCP booked. Beasties played there in 1998 (I was there), as well as at Quart (http://festivalinfo.se/?sida=nyheter&nyhet=1448) (I was there) in Norway who has already released most of their absolutely awesome line up for this year.
Other festivals during the same weekend as the Polish one are OpenAir St.Gallen (http://www.openairsg.ch/news/index.html) in Switzerland (maybe Hörnblowér could visit his relatives again), Werchter (http://www.rockwerchter.be/RW2007/fase1/index.asp) in Belgium (BB and me there back in 1998 as well, Pearl Jam, Muse and Chemical Bros booked so far), and a helluva lot of heavy (http://www.festivalhopper.de/festivals-2007.php) metal festivals (http://festivalinfo.se/?sida=kalender&land=alla&manad=2007-05)...
