I had read in an article someware that DJ Premier was dying to work with the Beastie Boys on a project and I was wondering if anybody else had heard anything about that. That would be a pretty badass track though, the boys over a Premo beat.

That would be immense. Most of the kids here probably don't even know who Primo is though.

That would be an incredible collaboration. A team-up like that would turn a lot of heads and change a lot of minds from both audiences.

But then again I never thought I'd see the boys working with Just Blaze....so I guess anything's possible.

It came from the same interview where Primo had claimed to have done work on what would become Nas' "Hip-hop is deat" set, so who knows?
Personally, I'd like to see it happen, but id rather him and nas get on with their collab album.
I've always wanted a beastie/high end producer type joint.
Never gonna happen though (n)

They're too "home made" to do that. But I respect that.

That would be absolutely fantastic. If they did a whole album I think it would blow my mind.

'home made' as in 'stingy' methinks!

Haha word. They would never shell out like half a mil or whatever ridiculous figure the top producers are charging for an album these days.

that would be amazing to hear the Boys on a track by him. As much as I love the boys production, i do yearn to hear them on tracks by other producers.

Your totally right, man. They would never have the money for something like that...

Premier rules and all, one of the greatest producers of all time (along with Pete Rock), but I have to say I could see them rhyming on a Neptunes beat before a Primo track.
Does anyone remember when the Grand Royal website had an interview and story about the Neptunes, maybe back in 1999? I think they would be well suited to hook up for a track. Too bad the Neps charge an arm and a leg.

The record company pays for that shit. It's not like the Beasties have to actually dip into their personal bank account to pay for it. Obviously they'd have to pay it back from sales of the album, but come on...It's not like the Beastie Boys are making albums because they need to pay the rent. I think at this point in their careers it'd be great to see them working with other producers.

yea i would flip out if they worked with producers of today....also i think today's producers would be happy to work with the beastie boys, since they're legends & stuff. Just Blaze said he felt honored to work with them

I remember reading somewhere that they've said they love making music too much to hire someone else to do it for them.

 Actually you stated that they'd pay out of their own pocket before I did, Columbo.
Your douche-baggery shouldn't amaze me after seeing your posts for a few years, but you've surprised me yet again.

What the fuck are you talking about you complete and utter moron? Dude said "home-made" as in "stingy", I agreed because of the fact they'd rather try and produce the album themselves than pay the huge amount of money for a top producer to do it. Which is OK, but still I would love to hear them use some big name producers.
Do you understand now, remedial boy?

I'm sure if Primo was dying to work with the beasties as much as the original post stated, he'd be willing to take a considerable pay cut in order to make it happen. Despite their different styles and histories, they're both very tactful and obviously immensely talented artists, therefore the outcome would be off the chain.
