Yeah, so I did that video for that Incubus contest

and the band picked me as one of the top 5 finalists. I'll be flying to Los Angeles (on Epic Records' dime) along with the other 4 directors on Feb. 13th to see the final show on Incubus' tour at the Wiltern and then partying with them and they will announce the winners.

In addition to the band selected winner, there will be a fan voted upon winner. So, I'm just saying, if you peeps wanted to help me out- you could go and vote for me.

Then, there's a link to the finalists page and I'm video #3. They really picked from all over the place as far as those 5. Some videos really got shafted.

Congrats indeed. DJ Shadow recently had fan video contest for "my way". I had sort of an idea, and sort of started making it but never got round to doing it due to my lazyness. Now when ever I hear the track, I think "what if".

And yeah, #5 looks really good. My only beef with it is that essentially nothing happens in it. Then again, music videos tend to be style over substance so I guess it could win it. Music videos tend not to be as story based as mine.

your video was really good, great job man. i voted for yours too. the only competition i see is from number five, which also was aesthetically impressive, however, yours has much more to it, ie an emotionally crushing scenario that could happen to any one of us. regardless, the other videos were really lame. number one was deplorable juvenile cheese, two was boring, and four was also pretty low budget looking and therefore cheese. to be honest, i couldn't get through any of them, except for yours. and that girl is really hot. if you're going for her, best of luck.

yeah, I feel #1 is there so the band seems like "oh, we actually took them all into consideration. Everyone in Incubus land seems to like #2. The cool thing about that one is all of that artwork is from the album booklet. But, if I weren't already an Incubus fan, I'd never last through the entirety of that video. #4 is a guy who also posts on the Incubus board. It's kind of a cool story. He made that (sans band footage) for an animation class and everyone stumbled onto it on youtube. Some people from the board tracked him down and convinced him to enter the contest. So he added band footage and bam! he's a finalist. nuts.

as far as #5 goes. I think it looks amazing but it's so empty to me. Nothing going on. But it'll probably win because of the fact that it's such a generic music video. It also crushes mine and the others in the "I could see this on MTV" department.

But we shall see.
