PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. -- A new pair of hands pulled Punxsutawney Phil from his stump this year, so it was only fitting that the groundhog offered a new prediction.

Phil did not see his shadow on Friday which, according to German folklore, means folks can expect an early spring instead of six more weeks of winter.

I think Knuckles should name his baby Punxsutawney. Just a suggestion.

I coulda told anyone there would be an early spring. When you have such a mild winter that it almost didn't happen, it's pretty much inevitable.

My seven year old came tearing into the room after reading about it in the news-

'It's really happening, we're going to go back in time!', having no idea it was a real thing and not just a film.
Good thing she didn't try to come up with imaginative ways to commit suicide to pass the afternoon.

There is a meteorologist named Doppler Dave in my local TV market. I would rather have a gopher come on at 6pm and give the weather forecast every night. I am sure they would win the ratings battle.
