I saw a programme today about a plane that crashed into another plane in mid-air before plummeting to the ground and landing on a plane factory where they build planes, so I'm told.

Because it would be far too heavy to fly. And also the passengers would be scrambled as soon as it crashed on the ground, the fact that a plane breaks up, would reduce some of the impact. It's drowning in the sea, or getting burned to death you have to be careful of.
