Recently there's been this SuperBowl-o-Mania. [What was/is/will be the score, again?]

I've been always curious which one of these 5 is really the most beloved among You, Americans.

EDIT1: Okay, I'm sooooooooooo gay, I blew it, accidentally hit 'enter', awww fuck it!!!
EDIT2: It turns out to be repaired now...

It's definitely football. Anyone who tells you different is a retard. I believe Wembley is going to host an exhibition game between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants next season.

Isn't baseball America's "national pastime"? There are thousands of baseball games played every season, vs. only a couple hundred football games.

I prefer baseball, but all these sports are silly. Basketball being the most silliest.

American football is interesting and easy to understand why it's so popular. While all or most sports do, football fulfills that war/ego hunger in males and some females.

I like Knockout though.

Football's definitely my favourite. I prefer Canadian football to American football, but I certainly don't mind a good NFL game. Tomorrow ought to be a good match.

Soccer was here just in case... Anyways, no one voted...

I also knew hockey is rather Canadian and not that popular as the other 3 major sports.

Basketball seems to be very 'pop' and commercialised.

So it has to be the choice between football and baseball. I feel like baseball is more interesting, even though I never really watched any game (unless You count games played in anime cartoons). But on the other side football has it's Super Bowl and baseball..? But on the third hand - doesn't baseball have longer tradiotions, I mean all those player cards and stuff?

Thanks for the replies so far, people! AND FOR VOTING!

I just heard on the radio that the final will be played today at nighttime (in Poland). Go Bulls Go!;)

Canada is part of North America.
How profound of you. Did it take 30 shots of moonshine for you to realize that?

What you didn't notice is that the title of the thread it 'American National Sport poll', emphasis on American and National, which is a reference to the only country on the continent which calls itself 'America'.

Baseball gets trumpted as "America's national pastime" but I truly think basketball is most beloved. But I wonder how the revenues match up.

No way, man. It's easily football and then probably nascar. I don't know the exact figures, but the NFL is a revenue juggernaut compared to all other sports.

Maybe it's just that I'm from Indiana, where basketball gets pounded into you from birth.

Boxing?

I have no idea. Fuck professional sports, anyway.

Baseball is probably second to golf as most boring sport to watch.

There's a reason why a game has a built-in moment for the audience to stretch.

Most of these sports do not translate well on TV.

Baseball & hockey should be watched live. I imagine soccer is the same.

Football and basketball are good to watch on TV.

I am a strange guy because I like to watch golf and poker on television.

Baseball doesn't work live for me, either.

Basketball works on TV and even better in person.

My personal favorite is Baseball, but I believe Football is the most popular sport in America.

Mainly because it requires the least amount of time to casually follow a team.

If you're not ito stats and fantasy sports and whatnot, and only follow one team, you only have to invest 3 hours a week on football. It's not every day like baseball, or every 2nd or 3rd day like Basketball and Hockey.

And with only 16 games, every game means so much.

If you ever played organized "American" Football, you have a lot more appreciation for seeing a game live.

The TV follows the ball, but in football, so much of the game is won and lost away from the ball.

But there's jsut something baout the simplicity of baseball that I love. Live or on TV.

I did not mean exclusively on TV. I have been to many pro football games and some NBA games.

I did play organized football. My nickname was Happy Feet.

Hi, thanks again for all the info!

Randy, I meant no one voted in the polls generally ('cause I hand't hit "show results"). Now I know which douchebag voted soccer :p I like 'football' though, fav sport here in Poland.

M.Dusty, I know who Bulls are - the best team ever for my generation;> Bulls, Blackhawks (hockey, right?), Bears and... ?

bigblu89, what do You mean by '16 games'? The season is that short? And do they play bas(k)e(t)ball that often in the week?

Chicago has two baseball teams, the White Sox are in the American League, and the Cubs in the National League.

OMG, my blood pressure can't calm down. White Sox, like umm... Red Sox from somewhere East? And what's the differemce between those leagues? Is it like NBA and WNBA :p or Like Premier League and Championship?

I have a cap with the "A" - must be the emblem of American League.

I believe that the poll was favorite SPORT therefore NASCAR can not be counted because that is not a sport. Just to clarify.

No, the cap is black and the A is black too. And it has that 'wave'.

I know what NBA is!

Major League Baseball - how could I have forgotten?! Now I don't understand anything. Who wins MLB? Do the teams from both leagues mix? Which is better?
