I don't know how to go about this, or if this will even work out....But there are 50+ hosted remixers on BeastieMixes.com right now....Some are active right now, and some are not....But if we can pair up 2 remixers with each other, maybe 3. I think we can come up with a sick Collabo Album.....I don't know how we'll determine who gets paired up with who, or what song each group gets, but right now we need some "I'm In's"...Even if we get 30 of the mixers, and divide them into groups of rwo, that's 15 tracks....The more the merrier.......So here's the big question.......Who's In?
Once we have enough "I'm In's", we can all work together to organize shit out....

I say just choose. If you wan in, and you dont have someone to mix with, post here, and we'll try to get it hooked up. After your first mix, maybe switch off to someone who you never would have thought to mix with. That would be kinda crazy!

Here's a crazy idea...seeing as how the album is for Silence7, we could first get into groups. And then, when you have a group of 2,3,or 4 (or whatever), we could ask Silence which song he'd like to hear said group mix (after all it is all for him, and who else knows every DJ like he does) Just a thought.

Yeah, assigning partners by one person is not the way to go....I'm thinking everybody can throw out some names that you would like to work with, and then we can work everything out like that.....And if we happen to NOT get enough DJ's, we can mix and match......(I think that's easier said than, done)

It's real easy to get paired: just say "i'm mixing with so-and-so", or "hey, who wants to mix with me". Then pick a song, and let her rip.

I have no idea who I want to work with since I've never really collaborated with anyone who wasn't sitting next to me at the time. I guess I'll write out how I get things done and go from there.

I make my own beats, using the following equipment:

Ableton Live 5
Reason 2.5 (rewired into Live)
Midi Keyboard
turntable/mixer

I usually dump my vocals into Live, then build up some drums in Reason. From there I grab samples from vinyl or whatever and continue building.

Silence - I was thinking we'd get all the mixes in, and then have a big "The album is done! Go listen" announcement when they're all up with descriptions. Kinda like how the contests work. What do you think? IOW, instead of everyone getting to hear them as they're finished, we'd all have to wait until the album is complete and then get to listen.

Silence - I was thinking we'd get all the mixes in, and then have a big "The album is done! Go listen" announcement when they're all up with descriptions. Kinda like how the contests work. What do you think? IOW, instead of everyone getting to hear them as they're finished, we'd all have to wait until the album is complete and then get to listen.
