I got this book (http://www.turntablelab.com/books_design/0/0/12957.html) for christmas. Its definitely worth reading. Talks all about Pauls Boutique and how it was made etc. Anyways in part of it it says that Russel Simmons "threatened" the beastie boys to release all the unrelease LTI tracks (rumored to be the white house album) the beasties claim there wasnt anything much to release, and a source close to simmons also says it was bullshit. So no white house album....

The book is full of shit. The white house album was a joke yet Chuck D said he was involved time and time again.
the book also said that Doctor Dre rapped in "your sister's def" yet there is video footage of Yauch rapping it.
Just to tell you guys, much like the internet, a book can be written by anyone and unless its authorized by the people involved (the beastie boys) chances are the book is full of shit.

yo kenny, try to read it again. I doesn't say it's a 100% beastie song. It says Dr. Dre made it for them to use, they didn't, but they used it in that MTV-show...
Go and write you own book then, and uploade the full Howard Stern Interview!

Like I said, the book can say whatever it wants, but its the beasties that have the final say in it. I saw Yauch rapping to it. I never saw Dre rapping to it on YO! MTV RAPS! Yes, its not a "song", per say, because its just an accapella or in the hip hop world, a "freestyle".

its a song. its a freestyle. its an accapella. whatever. He may have written but after years and years of listening and watching Dre, I know its not his voice and after seeing Yauch rapping it, the case is C-LOSED!!:D

Here are my thoughts on the issue. I agree that Doctore Dre did not rap on Your Sisters Def. I agree that in the 1989 MTV Yo MTV clip Yauch raps a few lines of Your Sisters Def. However, that being said...I believe that Anthony Davis is who you hear rapping on the album track "Your Sisters Def" Please see this url:

This website is very well done!
Also, I highly recommend the 33 and 1/3 Paul's Boutique book by Dan LeRoy.

Here's the quote from the 33 1/3 book by Dan LeRoy
Although included on the 12-inch version of "Shadrach" and treated as a Paul's Boutique outtake, "Your Sister's Def" has no real connection to the album. Instead, it's an a capella demo of a song by Dr. Dre, the Beastie Boy's former DJ and the co-host of "Yo! MTV Raps."
He submitted this track to the Beasties "as a potential song for them to use," remembers Mike Simpson, "based on Licensed to Ill." Cowritten by Dre and Anthony Davis, "Your Sister's Def" makes it clear that they, like most observers, imagined that the Beasties' sophomore album would be much like the first.
Set to an aggressive, Rick Rubinesque rhythm, the lyrics--which entreat a nerdy fan to help the Beasties gang bang his sister--represent the payoff of almost everything the "Fight for Your Right" video implied. Given that, and some nauseating sexual references, it's somewhat surprising the track saw release. According to Mike Simpson, "We just thought it was really funny." The Beasties found it amusing enough, at least, to rhyme the opening verse during one of their 1989 MTV appearances.
Not only that, but if you look at the back cover of the Shadrach 12-inch, the track is written and produced by Andre [Dr. Dre] Brown and Anthony Davis. "Produced" is the key because it support's Mike Simpson's story that they made the track and sent it to the Beasties. The Beasties never touched it, they just put it on the b-side of the record.
So, not only do you have the back of the 12-inch saying Dre & Davis produced the track but you also have one of the Dust Brothers saying it was Dre rapping on there, and he explains how it came to be. According to Yauch, its Davis rapping, not Dre. Fair enough, its easy enogh to see how there could be some confusion being that neither the Beasties or Mike Simpson was there when it was recorded.
I'm saying though, that book is dope. It explains a ton of shit about the album and puts a lot of stuff into perspective. Out of all the Beastie Boys books and articles I've read, the 33 1/3 book is the most indepth and enlightening.

The really interesting questions is, who's right: Yauch or Mike Simpson? In other words, whoever ate the least amount of mushrooms that day is probably right.

Yes. You ever see Weekend At Bernies? That's what the last 19 years of the Beastie's careers have been.
Didn't you ever wonder who the guys behind them were at the shows?

Mashed potatos sample = Robin Harris (the dad in House Party)
Your Sisters Def = (sounds like) Biz Markie (def not Fat Dr Dre)
White House = Consists of 1 song (Desperado.) It was a ploy to get back at the group for dropping Def Jam, ask Russel.
someone email chuck-d. He has a website and frequently posts. I am sure he would answer.

well, it really doesnt sound like the biz, either. The biz drags his words out and you can tell by how deep his voice is.
