I wish I could help you but I'm still too much of a noob to this place. I really haven't done anything except for went to a museum and I work some tremendous hours now with no time to adventure.

The Rainbow Room has a way better view and atmosphere than the Empire State Bldg.

I went last April and the first thing I ate was a massive slice of pizza in some pizza place in Brooklyn (y)

Did they skate stop the shit out of the Brooklyn Banks? I'd hit that up..although in the beginning of March you will probably freeze your balls off.

oh, there will be pizza, falafel, and other sorts of fast food eating. and yes, the banks would be dope to skate, though i'm not sure if they're stopped. i checked the weather, and it says it may be around 0-7 celcius, which is fair game as far as i'm concerned. and the rainbow room? place looks a little high class for me.

go to 5 points at Queens or travel around yourself in Jamica at the Bronx for some seriously cheep prices on stuff. and for shows....um time square I guess?

cheap stuff is a plus. i was thinking more a hip-hop show (or at leaste a band that doesn't play shitty music). i'm not the broadway type.

I'd suggest the first thing you do is go into the subway system and really get that down. It's daunting at first, but once you get it figured out, you have a much better time zipping from place to place.

Have an awesome time. I loved everything about New York City. I enjoyed the museum of natural history, but you might not be into that. I liked greenwich village the best (right around NYU), washington square park, lots of shops and food. Little italy was a disappointment, probably because it consists of like one street now and the shopkeeps were kinda assholes, but the rest of the lower east side was cool, I liked chinatown a lot. There's a thing called the lower eastside tenement museum that I really loved.

There is a clothing store up in Harlem called Harlem N.Y.C. It's on 125th street right across from the World Famous Apollo Theater. They got some good shit in there. You'll like it.

Oh yeah, just to be on the safe side, go in the daytime.

The boardwalk in Brooklyn Heights next to the Brooklyn Bridge is alright at night. You can see across the river at Manhattan all lit up. Check out Pier 17, too.

Crap, he called me at about 10 this morning and I was dead to the world. My job later called and asked if I can come in to work so I called him back and broke the bad news.

I just got asked to work the rest of this week, except for Friday. I'm gonna have 80 hours all together this week.

I wish I could hook up with you thursday. It's my wife's only day off during the week too.

Yeah, try to hang around a couple more days. I'm meeting up with a guy I grew up with on Friday too.

new york is deadly.

that sucks we couldn't meet up, but i doubt that's the last time i'll ever be there.

nyc is huge, and the people (pretty much all chicks) i was with were too scared to check out brooklyn, harlem, and all that, although we did check out that boardwalk one night. the last night there, i drank (i guess in the US, i'm considered 21), and once everyone passed out, i went for a solo skate through jersey. that last night, and the day were fucking cold, though. lots a shit to say, but maybe installments will work.

That's funny, when I went there I was surprised at how small the whole thing was. I didn't realize that pretty much all of the typical New York landmarks were in Manhattan. Manhattan is about the same size and shape as the city of Seattle, I think. I felt pretty at home.

I didn't really venture to the boroughs, though. Except Queens on the way to and from the airport and Brooklyn accidentally on the subway. Brooklyn actually looked like a place I'd totally want to live.

i'm leaving to go up there tonight at midnight

so i need some suggestion on where to eat. chances are i'll be in manhattan the whole time, since i don't think the others i'll be with will want to really venture to far out.

i want something sort of outlandish that i won't ever get to try again. what suggestions do you have?

go to a restaurant in little italy. they charge a little extra for bread, salad, and the free dessert, but it came only to $15 for me (lasagna), and we were all stuffed. no idea what the name was, but maybe one of the ladies kept the receipt. shit was delicious.

and i found manhattan pretty big, but i'm not from a large city. the only other places i've been were beijing, and vancouver, but i wasn't given as much free reign as this time.

attend a snl, connan, david letterman, or daily show taping
go on a the real kramer bus tour,
go to some of the record shops in greenwich village (especially on blecker st.)
see some buskers in times square,
get a slice of pizza

when I went I just walked around the main streets during the day, lots of fun
