i'm tired of the astronaut love triangle now.

i saw it on the news this morning before i left for work, and i didn't even think about it as i was headed to the jail. but i had to go across the street to drop off trial clothes, and that's when i realized what an annoyance that woman was.

traffic backed up trying to look at all the news vans on the main road. traffic backed up on the interstate overpass trying to look at the helicopters and traffic jam on the road below by the jail. news vans parked wherever the fuck they want, and coming to a complete stop on the road (speed limit is 45) and then BACKING UP to try to park wherever the fuck they want. so then i go over to the quiet side away from the booking and release center, and there's helicopters hovering very close and you can't hear anything anyone is saying, and one even seemed to follow me to my car. it's on every channel, non-stop.

but, it is funny to me to hear judge murphy's voice on cnn (i was never assigned in his misdemeanor courtroom, but i did have one trial in front of him). he was rotated to the jail for the next year to do initial appearances, and was recently complaining that doing initial appearances at the jail is like the movie groundhog day, with the same day just repeating itself over and over again. guess today was a little different for him.

the police are pretty much reading their entire report, WHICH IS NOT EVIDENCE AND CANNOT BE ADMITTED INTO EVIDENCE, on the news. they are saying everything that was said to them by her, which is stuff that might have been subject to suppression, so they've pretty much tainted the entire jury pool and she'll never get a fair trial.

Honestly, I have to say I see a pretty consistent standard being applied by the media to both this story and the Mooninite story: sieze on anything that can be hyperinflated beyond all reason into some kind of attention-grabbing circus sideshow, and shove it down the public throat until the next steaming pile of shit comes along.
