Are you doing it?
If yes do you go locally or farther away?
This often amazes me, a friend of mine is from Australia and works as a snowboard instructor for one half of the year.Last weekend in Austria lots of people from the UK and Netherlands were skiing.
They don't have mountains in their motherland....
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have started snowboarding if I had to travel to do it. I'd rather travel + go to the beach then....

I love winter sports. Ice hockey, snowboarding, skiiing. Okay, I've never actually done them, but I would! And I will, I'm going to live in Germany soon enough, and they have mountains near and shit. Also, I'm going to get in the Army Ice Hockey team. I will!

You're username suggests you DO have skiable mountains at home. You're in the Army, right? Are you being transfered to Ramstein Air base? Actually, if you were, would you be allowed to answer at all?

many times i've been invited to go skiing for a week or so down in the snowy mountains but i've never gotten around to it. in fact the only time i've ever seen snow was from the top of Mt Kosciousko or however you spell it. and that was only a tiny little patch. i think i'd be pretty shit at skiing, but i wakeboard so i cant imagine it'd be that much different

I hear the russians fave winter sport is hacking holes in the ice and go swimming at -30° C. But I think it's reserved for senior citizens, 50 or older... ;)

im austrian but only went skiing for 7 days ever in my life
i hated it, the skiing itself was ok but it sucked cause the teachers forced us to ski twice a day

ice skating doesnt thrill me too much either

tobogganing is the only winter sport i really like
