oh! funny story! i got my not-grades back (we don't get "grades" at northeastern, we get "evaluations" which are basically grades in paragraph form, and you have to guess what the grade is), and i got an "excellent" in property. i will never know how i did that, that was easily my worst class. i missed a bunch of classes, i skipped a lot of reading, and the classes i was prepared for, i didn't understand, because the professor wasn't very good. fortunately, a 2L friend of mine had her when he was a 1L, and he sent me his notes, so i based my outline off of that. and i got what i'm pretty sure is equivalent to an A.

i really think i'm just a lucky bastard

i got a "very good" in torts (probably a B? i deserved that though, i worked fairly for it) and a "general competency with a working knowledge of the rules of civil procedure" in civ pro, which is probably a C. and the professor in that class wrote a second evaluation for everybody, which only the students get to see (in other words, you don't include them in your job application), where he told me what i he really thought. it was a page long, he basically ripped apart my exam, but apparently he did that for everyone. he didn't tell me anything i didn't already know, and i passed, so i don't care. no 1L understands civil procedure, i don't get why they teach it in the first year
