Not much feedback around here it seems on this one...so here's a little something on last night's show. It was flawless. That seems to be the consensus view from everyone I talked to around the place afterwards anyway. In fact, that word was used by 89% of all respondents. Other descriptions I heard included "tight" (9% of respondents), and "fizzlin'" (< 1% of respondents, she possibly misheard/misunderstood my question).
Set list (yes, this is in order):
1. Gratitude
2. Sabrosa
3. Intergalactic
4. Shake Your Rump
5. Sure Shot
6. Triple Trouble
7. Alright Hear This
8. Pass the Mic
9. Lighten Up
10. Groove Holmes
11. Ricky's Theme
12. Root Down
13. 3 MCs and 1 DJ
14. Brass Monkey
15. Flute Loop
16. No Sleep til Brooklyn
17. MMM Solo
18. So What'cha Want
19. Sabotage
Highlights aside from the musical performance itself included the first ever* Beastie Boys Valentine's Day toast to all people in the house with a love connection (complete with champagne) and Mike and Mark riding around the stage on a shipping crate mid-song. Wild man, wild.
Not even a brush fire nearby the venue/road in was able to stop this shit. Fortunately a boat was able to get the band to the park on-time regardless. A local with a smaller boat (called a dinghy according to Mike) then came to the rescue to ferry the band members from their boat into the shore. Only in Australia...men for others - just like you'd see on an episode of Neighbors.
Photos from these shows might be on the way...though I don't think there are any appropriate shots to get up here unfortunately. I'll check through them anyway, ja'mean.
Safe to say expect big things from the up-coming shows for sure.
*According to my records.
