Did anyone watch? I thought the performances were good.

The Chili Peppers won for best rock album of the year. I can remember going to a club called Rock Itz in Richmond Virginia to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fishbone. I believe it was 1982. The Chili Peppers opened the show and Fishbone closed it up. After the show I think I said something like--Fishbone is going to hit it big. Wrong again. Of course, the Chili Peppers were good but I really liked Angelo and the boys.

I thought the Police sounded great. Other good performances in my eyes.......

Christina Aguilera was really good with Its a Man's World
Shakira belly dancing with Wyclef
SMOKEY---I love me some Smokey Robinson
I am not a fan but Justin Timberlake was entertaining.
The Chili Peppers were good but the song is a borefest.
The Carrie Underwood gal could sing.

I am not a fan of most of the performers last night but have to give them props for being good live. I thought the awards show was well produced.

I only saw The Police (which hardened my cynic edge to believe it was still 1983!) and The Dixie Chicks. All I wanted to see were The Police.

Goes to show what the Grammys know for rewarding "Stadium Arcadium"

I didn't see all of Christina's performance but the end of it was pretty intense. She was like on the floor and stuff.

I thought Mary J sang well. The Dixie Chicks were a little more subdued than I expected. It would have been cool if they came out like badasses and rocked the shit out of Not Ready to Make Nice.
