they cancelled everything for tonight, so i have a few hours that i get to just do homework instead of doing homework, eating, and going to class all at the same time

its basically the same as if i just skipped class, so nothing special

Classes are canceled until noon tomorrow, and my boss told me not to come in either.

What to do?

no, getting of early because you play sick and go to the beach is

But then you gotta use vacation time/sick days. This is FREE days!

It's a little slippery outside. I sent my brother on a mission to go walk to the store and buy me foodz. Which is also

OHMIGOD. Jesus. I get outside today and have to chisel my fucking car out (it iced, then snowed, then iced again) and then my brother and I had to rock it back and forth because the tires were just spinning when I tried putting it in reverse. After that, we hop in the car and slide our way to the Metro station. Maryland conveniently didn't salt or plow I-370, which is the ONLY MAJOR ROAD GOING TO SHADY GROVE METRO STATION (it's an EXTREMELY busy Metro station, too)! I was going 10 mph and kept sliding out. It was like driving on a rocky mountain, too, my car kept jumping over ice blocks and climbing over snowy embankments. My normal 5-minute drive to the station took TWENTY-FIVE minutes.

I don't know if I'll be able to get home. It's like the entire state was sitting on their asses last night, as opposed to salting and plowing. NOTHING has been cleared out/taken care of. They just barely shoveled I-95 out. What the FUCK were they doing this whole time?  (n)

the snow drifts in my yard are taller than me, its actually pretty cool. I was going to take pictures last night but then my princess syndrome kicked in and I was all like, hell no I'm not going out in the cold.

 Did you not read my post? Snow sucks! Unless we get off from work because of it. Government was just delayed 2 hours today, so it doesn't count.

I did read your post. It actually cemented my longing.

I loved snow until toward the very end of the season when I did start to get a little sick of it. I loved the fun and the hassle of it. I loved snowmobiling, shoveling snow and getting sticky-sweaty under some big old coat, I loved spinning out and nearly crashing my brother's car drunk at 14, I loved snowball fights, snow forts, starting the car in the morning then going inside to eat while it warmed up and defrosted, I loved getting stuck and then rocking a car out of it... I loved it. (y)

Add it to the list of "Why Maryland Can Be Sucky". Not doing anything to 370 is fucking retarded. You not knowing how to drive in snow/ice is funny.

I left early yesterday but that was to pick up my mom so she wouldn't have to drive in the snow. But that changed last minute and I already told my boss that i was doing that so i just went home.

Today, there are about 10 people here out of about 50. And the roads are easy to drive in unless you have rear wheel drive, bald tires, and no snow driving skills at all.

I wish I stayed home, actually i think I deserve to go home early again today since I actually showed up. Right? right.

I know how to drive decently in the snow, but I have not a lot of practice due to the mild winters lately. A lot of people in Maryland are pretty clueless. I usually stay where the snow is the whitest - more traction. When it's slushy and driven through and brown is where it's the most slippery. And when my car starts to lose control, I take my foot off the gas and let the car naturally slide a little, I won't fight back because that's when the car will spin outta control and crash. I can't tell you how many people try slamming on the brakes and hitting a median.

This is the one day of the year where having an SUV is actually useful. The Lexus SUV that lives near me decided to take the day off from work. That's because it's luxury and therefore they can't take it out in the snow.

HA! As I was cleaning off my car looking at MY neighbor's Infiniti SUV and I thought the same exact thing. (y)

Somebody took the corner to my street and took out the stop sign and street signs. It is still snowing here. I think we are supposed to get 3 to 6 inches.

6 snows & 3 ice storms and counting.........

Yeah, if global warming exists, why's it so cold up in hurr!

Does Texas usually have such snowstorms? You're in the northern part, no?

I didn't even know it snowed in Texas. Any part of it.

I am closer to New Mexico, Oklahoma and Colorado than any big city in Texas. The wind whips and the weather changes up here in the High Plains.

That sucks mang. I commuted from VA today. The roads were slushy, but all right.

I'm still pissed that I had to come in today. Stupid OPM. (n)
