I have listened to ALIVE about 1000 times and I swear that they sample Car Thief at the end of the song.......what do you think?? Are there any other songs with samples that anyone can think of........???

Some lyrics in egg man were from egg raid on mojo.

In 3mc's and one dj the new style is sampled 'bug out to *mike* all the time'.
Also in the initial scratch on the phone MMM is scratching loose booty which was the main hook for Shadrach, I guess that one is a 'sample of a sample'

i remember somebody said it sampled the "go" from slow and low, is that right or am i crazy or both?

Does Beastiemania list The Vibes as a sample for Sure Shot yet? It should. People with ears can hear that it's the drum fill from Vibes being scratched on the lead-in to the verses.

i've listened to them both though and they sound different :confused:

and i don't get this one:

"Thunderbird is the word and you're light as a feather" sample: "Slow Ride" by the Beastie Boys :/ whaaaa?

yeah, that is right, off topic i think there is some song by common (i think) that had very similiar scratching on it near the same time and TTFB came out.

I have seen MMM go off on the 'go' before live as well.

word. i am still baffled on all the correct samples in 3mc's and one dj and what songs they are from. actually the 'bug out to mike' part was on a dirtstyles scratch record from MMM before Hello Nasty came out. It originally was 'bug out to mike *every single day*' which sampled snoop. not sure if you ever saw on MTV, before HN came out they had a 'preview of' HN and they played a bit of 3MC's with the snoop sample in it instead of the 'all the time'. still want to now all the other samples in that song.

Isn't that them just playing instruments in the studio and then them listening back and picking out parts that they liked and sampling it? Did that make sense?

Same with some of the drums on Pass the Mic....

Yes, for CYH (and who knows maybe other albums as well) they played their instruments for some tracks and then looped themselves. A lot changed in the world of sampling after PB came out.
