So this is a stand-alone concert, right? How big is the venue? It turns out that I can't read French either, but if I'm looking at a theater with 6000 capacity, is that probably it?

Moreover, their last gig in Paris was in Bercy...(which is bigger
and more polyvalent than a Zénith!) ?

I saw that "fosse" means "mass grave" according to an online translating site, so I figured that was the place to be. :p

For the more expensive tickets, it seems as though they don't assign a particular seat? It was very confusing.

Hi -- I haven't posted in a long time, although I keep up and read what is going on. Anyway -- I've been wanting to go to Paris and London for a while, so today I bought my ticket for the show. I read somewhere that the seats are not assigned, and that you have to line up for them (unfortunately, I read that after I bought a seat, not floor, but just being in there is what counts!)

I'm so excited -- can't wait to meet the people whose posts I have read over the years! (especially Miramanee -- I really hope you're there!)

Same here, never been to France before so gonna make a short break of it.

Purchased my tickets yesterday for the pit. My french is pretty poor (despite studying it for 5 years at school) so i'm hoping I did the order right.

Any suggestions for which areas I should look at for a cheapish hotel?

I just want to say that FNAC sucks. And their consumer service is below criticism. I had problems with putting my orders. My browser crushed twice during ordering the tickets. I thought the orders were not processed because I didn't get a confimration email. So I repeated the procedure two times and now I ended up with three tickets and they don't want to cancel my orders.:(

If I wanted three tickets I would put one order for three tickets instead of three orders for one ticket (each + 12 EUR for shipment) but FNAC is not able to understand this.

With pleasure!
It was my first Beastie Boys concert ( with Money Mark, Eric Bobo, Awol and DJ Hurricane )
I was young, i was beautiful, i was nuts, and it was TOTALLY WILD!!!
Like to be with people in a GIANT PINBALL during the EXTRABALL!!!
Everyboby danced, screamed, jumped on the air, with big smile on their face.
It was a very funny and happy mood. I remember too the picture of a HUGE DRAGON behind the scene
and for the instrumental part, the decoration was a red curtain of rain with japanese lamps...wooohaooo!...
For sure, Le Zenith is really the best place in Paris to see the Beastie Boys on stage!

Well they're no longer available when you click the Find Tickets button:

http://www.fnacspectacles.com/place-spectacle/manifestation/Rap-Hip-hop-BEASTIE-BOYS-BBOYS.htm?_x=x&_lang=en

Unless they still have allocation held back or they are on sale elsewhere then they must be sold out.

If anyone knows how to get hold of pit tickets please let me know, me and 5 mates are planning on going to this gig and we really don't want to be seated :( .

So how did you guys enjoy the show?

I must say that the great thing about the show was that I got to meet some cool people from the message board. It really adds to experience when you go to see the band with friends who love the band as you do.

It`s hard for me to say much about the show because it all happened so quickly. All I know is that I had a great time (except for few moments when I was struggling not to be smashed against the rail:p).

The Paris show was wicked! A wild but friendly pit - thanks to the people who returned my glasses to me when I lost them - twice! - they got a bit bent but not bad really. My kangol got a bit stomped-on when I lost it but I think it will wash clean.

I also feel like I've kind of received Karmic pay-back - I stage-dove off one of the barriers at the Brixton Academy in '98 and didn't realize quite what a stupid thing I'd done until I was in mid-flight, looking down at the frightened eyes of the people who had noticed some nutter about to jump onto their heads - from behind! I felt like a real asshole and have had a guilty conscience about it ever since. But last night in Paris I almost got my head ripped off a few times by crowdsurfers when I was in the pit - it felt good.

The show did seem to fly by - I was just getting warmed up when it ended. I can't wait for the London shows this September.

Oooh my god!!:D I just woke up from my 2 days trip in Paris (came back at 3 in the morning by car) where I saw them twice... I'm dead tired but sooooooooooo happy! Thanks again Adam, Adma and Mike, you rocked the places twice!!! I got some pics I'll try to post them later...
I'm 3 months pregnant and I will be proud to say to my child that he (or she, don't know yet) has "seen" the Beastie Boys so early... I precise that I was seated, right, I'm a good mother!! I wasn't crowdsurfing either, you guessed! :p
Anyway both Zenith and Bataclan shows were fantastic, I wonder how they do (or what they take?) to get so much energy! Mike D is like a crazy 15 years old boy jumping and screaming all over the place... Pffffiouuu!!
Great shows!!!!! Thanks boys!!

Mike D is like a crazy 15 years old boy jumping and screaming all over the place...
Yes, I still think it's his new hair. Mike had less energy with the closely-shaved hairstyle of the Pageant Tour.

I was very pleased with the Zenith show. I don't listen to the Beasties all that much on a regular basis now and I don't go to the hub and listen to old concerts, etc. So to me the songs sounded fresh and I was thrilled to be there. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that Super Disco Breakin is one of my favorite live songs. I like all of the Hello Nasty stuff live.

The venue was bigger than I thought it would be and I was disappointed that people who had tickets for seats could freely come into the GA area. Not that I blame the fans who crashed GA. I'd have done it too. The sound was good which surprised me. I could hear everything the Beasties said, which isn't always true. I know that most others disagree, but I loved seeing these French shows with the mostly French fans. I didn't realize it had been a while since they had a proper Beasties show in Paris. The French fans are totally into it, and they bounce all over the place, but they don't yell along with all of the songs, which means that I can hear the Beasties do the songs instead of some aging frat boys standing behind me. No offense to you aging frat boys. :p

There was too much pushing and I have deep deep bruises in places that shouldn't get bruised, but that's my own fault for standing where I stood. :p

The Beasties gave solid performances all around. I forget that most fans haven't seen the suits in performance yet. I love the suits.

I love everything about Paris except CDG airport. CDG airport sucks donkey balls. That doesn't really belong in this thread but it needs saying.

I enjoyed the gig, standing right in front of Yauch at the front. Sound wasn't the best, sometimes I couldn't even hear Yauch at all. Being at the front was alright except for the crowdsurfers (was gonna get bruised enough by the edgy barrier, good thing the one at Bataclan had round edges...). I think they should be thrown out the venue, it totally ruins the experience. Good thing Beasties have such a variety of tunes they can throw in some mellow stuff so the crazy people can cool down a bit....

Also it was great meeting all the BBMB people! :D

My favorite part about this gig was meeting all the fellow message board fans. I hope the Beastie Boys realize that they have some of the coolest nicest fans in the world.(y)

It was rad seeing the band in another country. The highlight of this show for me was definately hearing 'Super Disco Breakin'. I totally agree with b-grrrlie about the mellow songs in the midst of the set. It gives you a breather from all the pushing, shoving and squishing. Props to the bboys (erm, Yauch, cuz I've heard he's the setlist wizard) on arranging it as such. I don't know if they are mixing it up like that to achieve that objective but it sure helps. My favorite songs this tour are the hardcore ones and I'd love for it to be an entire set of that. I reckon one wouldn't come out alive at the barricade after that though.

I couldn't keep my eyes off of Kathleen dancing on the side of the stage as well as Spike! I would just die if Kathleen came out, grabbed Horovitz' guitar and shredded with 'em... one can dream. The whole friends and family presence at this show was awesome awesome awesome. I even noticed Horrorblitz glancing over at his lady a couple times sweetly... sigh. :(:o Oh and Mike letting his boys request a song?! Too cool, they played Brass Monkey for 'em.

I loves me some Beastie Boys, but I mostly enjoyed beers with my fellow fans! Oh and I love my new T-Shirt and Pins that I didn't see in the states.

I've decided I'm more of a Gala Girl than a Regular Set Fan. Hopefully I can get my Gala on in California at the end of August! Woo!

Can you please put this one up on youtube again Boulangerie? The 2004 Paris concert you put up was the best I have ever seen on the net. If this venue is the same as the 2004 concert that you put up, then the acoustics will be just as good as last time: awesome! Smaller venues are always the best :)

Thanks man ;)
