if you get married, if you've already gotten married, or if you have a metaphorical first dance song in your head, what would it be?

i'm not really sure if i ever want to get married, buutttt if i meet someone who wants to make me an honest woman, is kick ass enough to make me think we won't end up bored of each other in 5 years and divorced like my parents in 20, then i'd pick jackie wilson's higher and higher (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL2_zhLs_T4). cheesy as fuck, but it always makes me :) whenever i listen to it and tap my toez. also, i would make my imaginative groom learn how to JIVE with me to it. like, proper choreographed shit. if he's not up for it, he's dumped! ahaha.

what's your first dance? whether you believe in marriage or not. it's a song to celebrate your lurrrrve, man!

oh, i provided a link (the video is LOL) so you can all practice your nastee wedding guest dance in your head! provide links, too! exclamation marks!!!

Isn't the first dance traditionally a "slow" number?

fuck that shit. i can't waltz for toffee.

a friend (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/nastee/Wedding007.jpg) of mine, her first dance (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/nastee/Wedding031.jpg) was the wannadie's you and me song. they just jumped around like teenagers. it was great and such a breath of fresh air.

i want to walk down the aisle to "in my life," i want to come out as a married couple to "real love," and i know i'm super lame to have that all picked out already. :o

first dance will probably be either "i love you" by A Band of Bees or "i only have eyes for you" by the Flamingos.

i do know that following that, there will be some funky cold medina-ing.

"in my life" was played at my wedding but not as a "special song." Just during the reception. Seems like it would be a better funeral song than a walk down the aisle song.

Our first song was "Angel Eyes" by Jeff Healy Band. I wanted "Strange Currencies" by REM, but alas, settled on that.

I have no idea. I would think that alot of males would probably just let their wife choose. I'm not saying that it is unacceptable for the groom to have a song planned out.

My first ever dance with a girl other than my mother or a teacher was to achy breaky heart in 1995.

I wish I could say we had something really cool but our first dance was I Need You (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DD5x7E7oag4)by Leann Rimes.

Totally soppy. Totally cheesy. It was a beautiful moment. :D

The link I have posted made me LOL. Someone made a music video to the song with cutesy Disney clips.

Rammstein - Buck Dich.

I'd like my love to sing: "Dein gesicht ist mir egal... BUCK DICH!"
mainly for shock effect ofcourse. And also because the bloke I'm getting married to must be so hawt that I'd 'buck' for him any time of day.

obviously ignoring the fact that it would certainly be have to be chosen with the currently non existing special lady. 'our way to fall' by yo la tengo. i will post the lyrics as i am sure not many of you will know it. i will also state that it is perfect shuffling speed.

i remember a summer's day
i remember walking up to you
i remember my face turned red
and i remember staring at my feet
i remember before we met
i remember sitting next to you
and i remember pretending i wasn't looking

so we'll try and try
even if it lasts an hour
with all our might
we'll try and make it ours
cause we're on our way
we're on our way to fall in love

i remember your old guitar
i remember i can't explain
i remember the way it looked around your neck
and i remember the day it broke
i remember song you sang
i remember the way you looked tonight
and i remember the way it made me feel

so we try and try
even if it lasts an hour
with all our might
we'll try and make it ours
because we're on our way
we're on our way to fall in love

I wouldn't mind getting down to Wild Thing by Tone Loc :D

If I seriously had to pick something though it would either be Something or Real Love by the Beatles.

Tough choice though, I like Real Love more musically but sound wise the song has bad audio so I guess my first choice would be Something.

Definitely the Flamingos, I put that song on a cd I made for my boyfriend. Its the most romantic song.

We were tied between the bright eyes song and The End of An Act from the Team America Soundtrack. We went with Team America

I miss you more then Michael Bay missed the mark
When he made Pearl Harbor
I miss you more than that movie missed the point
And that’s an awful lot girl
And now, now you’ve gone away
And all I’m trying to say is
Pearl Harbor sucked, and I miss you

I need u like Ben Affleck needs acting school
He was terrible in that film
I need u like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part
He’s way better than Ben Affleck
And now all I can think about is your smile
and that shitty movie too
Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you

Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?
I guess Pearl Harbor sucked
Just a little bit more than I miss you

***************************************

We also walked out to Highway to Hell. Good times, good times.

okay, so i was thinking about the choreography shit, and while eating pancakes on tuesday my friend and i were blissing out watching scenes from sweet charity and i'm pretty sure, now, that if my entire wedding party cannot dance to the full rich man's frug from this movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-63pyLPVjk&mode=related&search=) they're not going to be invited.

hah, um, that was totally an excuse to post that 60s-licious video. maybe i should make a dance thread? that would be awesome.

et, remember when i said i had our fake wedding song in our head? well, i know how you & i are secret massive 90s r&b lotharios, and i thought this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cca3-QoF6gw) would be suitable. you know, i can really see you rocking out in an oversized blue suit and wanting jermaine dupri to slowly kill himself. and then.. then run dmc would break out the rhymes and we can all SOUL TRAIN til the night ends. how does that sound?

i am totally LOL-ing at the fourth viewing of the video, oh man. cheeese! it's even more funny as the audio gets out of synch later on.

superb. bob fosse would be proud of you indeed.

personally, i like it at 3.47 when they all start to punch (the bride) in a line. also, 4.28 with the moving mass of heads, and the hitler goose steps at 4.55.

that movie also has the song most likely to make you (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97GzBd92kWk) :), otherwise known as the rhythm of life, where sammy davis is the coolest daddy-o you have ever seen in your life. i particularly like the bit round 3.17 when they all start 'swimming' to daddy.

hmm, perhaps i should make a dance thread.
