Don't you love showing off art, mrs. blurry-as-fuck? I've never done it, is it exciting? EXPLAIN.

oh, I donated a piece of artwork that I made so that people won't get AIDS.
my boss and coworkers donated too, so we got to go to the benefit for free (tickets were $125). it was a silent auction, and a small live auction, my boss was an honorary co-chair. he and a girl I work with got into the live auction, curated by some guy from sotheby's. I was kind of disappointed that I didn't get in, but mine was smallish, and the gallery placement was perfectly honorable.
I valued my piece at $250 (arbitrarily), and the bidding started at $100. there were 6 bids (two of which were from my boss  ), so it went for $225. which is pretty awesome. some of the art didn't get any bids at all. my boss' silent auction piece was itty bitty and it had tons of bids and went for like $475. mostly because people are always trying to kiss his ass. that thing's been for sale in the shop at half the price for 2 years! haha!
it was pretty exciting, but I was nervous. there were photographers and steaks and free expensive booze and fancy rich people. I don't think much will come of it, but I just keep putting my name and asthetic out there. maybe it'll stick some.
I have a for real show coming up though, where the pieces will be up for more than a day and in a place that's not a bar.

that's shweet dude! $225 is pretty damn good. you shoulda had at least $225 worth of booze, food, folks and fun.
i actually like the way your pictures look all ghosty and shit. ive been staring at the lobby picture trying to figure it out, at first i thought it was a close up of some part of a fire escape, now all im getting here is some lego man sitting on a see-saw table having a meal on a terrace overlooking a forest.
frame it for the next auction so that people dont get aids.
I really liked that piece. I'm glad it sold!
