According to mapquest:
Total Est. Time: 17 hours, 54 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 1119.85 miles
It might be faster to rent a jetski and go right about the coast.

By the way, I don't want to know the mileage. I want to know how long the drive will take. It takes two hours just to drive thru Seattle. And I can't tell you how long it takes to drive to Olympia sometimes.

Google maps has it at 149 miles (2 h 15 min). I would be up for flying into Seattle and renting a car with a couple other b-boys and/or girls for the drive.

i went last year, you can get very close to the stage, within 4-5feet prob. The 1st time i drove there from Vancouver it took me like 5h, but on the way home it was around 3-4. It is less than 2h from Seattle. An awesome drive, nice roads and an awesome view! Cant wait!!

I live in Seattle and have been to this festival multiple times. I will be going this year. Post or PM me any questions you have about it.
LA-Seattle drive is more like 20-24 hours. I think 17 is waaaay optimistic.
Seattle to gorge 2.5 to 3 hours.
I will camp Saturday and Sunday night, let me know if you want in on that.
Yes, view is gorgeous, and Sarah Silverman will apparently be hosting it whatever that means.
I hope I get to meet several of you...

Not at all, from Vancouver you'll come into the States and take I-5 south all the way through the city of Seattle to I-90 (at the South end of Seattle) and head out to the Gorge that way. I suppose you could cut across but it'd be a series of small rural highways and I'm not sure its even really that much of a time saver.

I'm planning on going (both days, haven't decided yet whether to camp or find a cheap motel), but I'm having a hard time convincing any of my friends to go with me - I have one maybe. So, I'd be interested in meeting other people in the area to go together, if you don't mind going with an old lady like me! ;) (I'm about the same age as the Boys) PM me if you want to discuss...
(Oh, and I-90 starts in central Seattle, just a little bit south of downtown. It actually starts right at Safeco Field, where the Mariners play!)

That'd be cool, the more the merrier! I'm going with several friends and we'll be camping Saturday and Sunday night. Hopefully we can arrange an impromptu board member meet up at the show. Cell phone service is generally crap (at least with my plan) in the Gorge, so we should all chat about it a little closer to the show.

Well yall, it seems like quite a few people from here are going. Lets try to get a meet up on. SD, I have cingular too but for some reason it only gives me emergency service at the gorge. Camping at the gorge is alright. Lots of tents packed together, lots of people drinking and partying late. I've done it like 4 or 5 times for different shows. Its fun.

Have you ever done the Premier Camping?

Have you ever done the Premier Camping?
No, but I have walked through the premier camp ground. Its a little less thrown together, the tents get more room and they're organized a little better. I believe they get showers, but I think they are outdoor and their honey buckets have sinks. I think those are the major differences. If you're nice, you can usually get a guard to let you into premier so you can use the nicer honey bucket. Or sometimes there isn't even someone there.
Pootytang
03-08-2007, 01:04 PM
I guess the key thing to bring, other than tents and food, would have to be toilet paper.
I thought I was going to do the premier camping, but I guess I'm gonna settle for the reg pass instead.
Do you get a reserved camping spot with the reg camping?
Pootytang

you buy your single day pass, or 2 day pass, however many days u wanna go. And then if u wanna camp you buy a camping pass for your vehicle and park on the grounds, and set your tent up right behind your car. and at the end of the show, everyone camping walks to a certain area, and those driving away, leave to their cars another way...
ok - thanks for the explanation :)
hope to see everyone there!

u dont have to camp. U could drive in and leave the same day.
As stated before its in the middle of nowhere and there is NO motels / hotels around. I would advise camping. Its $40 per car or $60 per car for premier.
Its very fun to camp there, and the scenery is excellent. I would recommend staying at least 1 night. It is quite expensive, they charge for everything at the Gorge, so bring cash. It will be a night u wont forget.
also u can pay for camping passes when u arrive. Then u dont have to pay ticketbastard service charges.
When I went to buy tickets its was $50 + $6 gorge facilitie fee + $2.50 ticketmaster distance fee + $9.00 ticketmaster service charge. Total for 4 tickets was supposed to be $200 but with all the fees was $269.00! F Ticket bastard and there BS Fees!

From what Ive heard there are plenty of tickets for both days. This venue can hold up to 20-40,000 people. This show might sell out closer to the event or not a all, due to the high ticket price. If you want to stay at a hotel, you need to head to the nearest towns, which is Moses Lake and Ellensburg. The host hotel for the bands are the Best Western in Ellensburg, and the back up is the Best Western in Moses Lake. The last time the Beasties played there was in 94 for Lolla. All bands stayed at those two hotels, minus the Beasties. They stayed at the Red Lion in Wenatchee. Wenatchee is also the closest airport. Where you can fly in from Seattle. Otherwise it is around a 3-4 hour drive from Seattle and a 5-6 hour drive from Portland. Ill see everyone there. We should all make a point to meet up somewhere at the event to say hi. Maybe someone can treat be to a $10 beer?
peace
