I shoveled half of my driveway and then my neighbor with a snow blower helped me finish! He did the really hard part at the end of the drive where the plow left a massive hill. His part looks better than my part. :(

Beware of wet snow. It's heavy as hell and will kill you.

Do you have any idea how many people have heart attacks every year while shoveling snow? And I'm not talking about old crusties in their twilight years. I'm mean people in their 20's thru 40's.

Listen to your body. When your back hurts, then stop. When you are out of breath, then stop. Hell, when you just don't want to do it anymore then just fucking stop. Your body will tell you when to quit.

A nice shoveled sidewalk doesn't mean shit if you're dead.

I paused occassionally and wiped my nose. I wanted it to look harder than it was so that the neighbor would help. And he did. :)

I love shoveling, but it was just too much snow today.

:( It sucks. I had to shovel my walkway when Pittsburgh got hit pretty bad a few weeks ago. My one neighbor always has the perfect timing to come out and pretend to shovel and simulate almost slipping constantly so I'll notice and offer to do it for her.....which I did. I just hate knowing that she thinks she played me. Fuckin bitch.

I recall many winters of shovelling piled of snow for hours just to get my damn car out the driveway, only to reach the friggin street and see that it wasn't plowed.

We have a snowblower now which speeds up the process. Funny, the winter we finally purchased a snowblower, and it was one of the lighter snowfalls I can recall.

LOLZ standards

We have some older families on our block who always stare lustfully at the snowblower, hoping we'll be generous enough to clear their driveways. And we do, when time allows it. I remember being in their situation, so I sympathize. That and they're older and at some point they likely fought for my freedom.

It's about 24 degrees here. it's the first day of uni and there's loads of 18 and 19 year old first-year girls all dressed up like it's a beach fashion show. can't complain really.

i used to love shoveling when i was a young. haha. i did though. i always did our neighbor's paths too, cause they are OLD. they were old when i was young. now theyre super old. i hope someone does their driveway. i dont live there anymore.

anyway. shoveling and fresh snow are my two favorite things about winter. but i want that to happen maybe TWICE and then i want the temperature to go back up to 50 for the rest of the winter.

The ONLY thing that's better living in the South is that I don't have to deal with shoveling and such anymore

What sort of a fucking unfit piece of shit dies while shoveling snow.

I had a friend collapse during a basketball game and he died in route to the hospital. I also knew a man that was found in his yard by his wife. He had been raking leaves and had a massive heart attack.

My friend that died during the bball game was young and had a irregular heartbeat. He did not know he had the condition.

The man that died raking leaves smoked and was out of shape.

Never know.

Do you ever watch the news? It fucking happens all the time.

Now I doubt that majority of people have that heart condition.

I thought I knew every fucking thing when I was your age, too.

I don't live in America.
Well, considering that the American diet basically consists of greasy, oily, fast food crap, someone dropping while shoveling snow is not an uncommon occurrence here. I mean, it's not like a plague or anything like that but it does happen every winter.
