“Assassination of Richard Nixon” : I was unaware of this as an actual historical event, really interesting/captivating flick….(y)
“The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada”….I have a whole new appreciation for Tommy Lee Jones as a filmmaker and as a redeemed actor for this effort…..(y)
Unviewed treasures are so great when you catch them, especially when you pull them out of the cheap section.....dug anything good up that you passed over oh so many times?

I got that for £1 a few days back. Sean Penn was so good he made me very uncomfortable, like chewing on a towel.
I also got The Jacket for £3, but I haven't seen it yet. Bought it purely because of Adrian Brody.

i refuse to watch that because i have the impression it's trying to be like heathers, and there can only ever be one heathers.

;) i saw a scanner darkly yesterday.
not impressed.
People seem to be really split on it......I like the graphic novel of the Philip K Dick story.....but everyone I've heard speak positively of the movie recommends it as altered state or stoner flick.......Keanu Reeves can really kill anything he touches though....;)

Stacey Peralta is the man.......Bones Brigade!...I love Penn as narator and Henry Rollins 2 bits....
One rainy day I'll have to watch "Lords of Dogtown".....afterall it does have Heath Ledger....so,it may be bearable.....

I hate dubbed movies. Cannot fucking stand them, it's subtitles or nothing.
Agreed,if there is one certainty about cinema it’s that NO film has ever benefited from being dubbed into English......when I went to see “Apocalyto” the girl I went with said “oh god,is the whole thing gonna be like this,I hate “reading” movies"….instant demise of romantic interest on my part....

Three of my five favourite movies ever are subtitled.
Do tell....
Mine:
Rashomon tied 3 ways with Yojimbo and the Seven Samurai
or
Grégoire Moulin contre l'humanité
or
Run Lola Run
For every domestic flick I rent I always snag a foreign.....(y)

In no particular order:
Infernal Affairs
Oldboy
I have yet to see "Infernal Affairs" probably would have never known about it if not for the Departed.....are the sequels any good?
The hammer fight from "Oldboy" was insane!....that is one seriously fucked up revenge movie......I mean man it was his daughter!........in the "english" version that story line is completley removed from the plot....

Have you seen Fulltime Killer? I wanna see it.

I haven't heard of Natural City, but I guess that's a good thing then.
Fuck, I'm trying to remember the name of a movie that I saw about 5 years ago when I was about 12. It had some dude that kidnapped children to steal their dreams. Ring any bells?
Natural City was promoted as a the New Bladerunner and it looked alot like it......
I think you may be talking bout: "Cite des enfants perdus,la" (y)

In the dub!? It was completely removed!? What the fuck?? That ruins the whole movie! And yes that hammer scene was so fucking good..
Yea in the U.S theatrical release the incest plot is nixed to "sanitize" it for North American audiences....
