Yesterday I rented and watched the documentary "Just For Kicks" which tells the story of hip hop's connection to the atheletic shoe industry. They give the Beastie Boys approximately 2 seconds of acknowledgment for their interest in sneakers.

In spite of the lack of Beastie Boys footage, the film contained some Run DMC footage which I had never seen before. It also had interviews with DMC, Glen E. Friedman, and Futura 2000. If you have the time/money, rent it.

how about that guy talking in the middle of time square saying how he travelled the world for one pair of sneakers. unbelievable.

Oh..I know...he said something about how using eBay and the internet wasn't the same as flying to Europe to get the shoes in person. You can buy a lot of shoes for the price of an airline ticket.
