An interview with jazz hero Wynton Marsalis where he gets into an angry fit about how evil and insignificant hip-hop is. Talk about ignorant. The writer does a good job, though, at disproving a handful of his wack claims.

I'm looking very much forward to hearing "From the Plantation to the Penitentiary"
I concur with the message he's coming with:
"The rap game started out critiquing, now it's all about killin' and freakin"
The guns, drugs, bitches and bling rap game is tired and old, bury it alive,in a bullet proof vest I say.....
Look for KRS 1's intro on "Where Ya All At?" (y)

but when the writer pointed out that all hip-hop does not play within those lines, Marsalis simply brushed everything else off as shallow and inferior.

When you're Wynton Marsalis 99.9% of almost any musical entity is inferior......really I think the journalist approached the interview with pretty slanted or sensational perspective.....I mean excluding the fact that KRS 1 is on the new record display's that the article was written to acheive a certain response....very slanted.

you raise a real good point. sounds like Marsalis is being made out as more of a bad guy than he probly really is. though i still think some of the statements he made were in very bad taste.
