It's ok. It's nowhere near their best song. People seem to love it, though.

Well, since we are on the subject, I LOVE INTERGALACTIC!

My other favorties include (in no order)

Sabotage

This is cold, but a friend of mine back in 98 called it Inter-ga-wack-shit. I don't think he listens to them anymore.:D

It's good when it comes on at a party, but I don't really rate it.

a bit overrated. but at the same time, sometimes it'll hit'ya at the right time and you'll be like, "damn!", now i see why poeple respond the way they do.

for a lead single from an album, though, it's impressive how such a strange song became such a hit, even for 98. it's got something.

I love the song just for the drums during these adrock lines:

Step inside the party disrupt the whole scene

(especially here)

When it comes to beats well I'm a fiend
I like my sugar with coffee and cream

Yeah it's an awesome live song, if they didn't record the vocals "live" (the three of them at once) it would probably not be nearly as good as it is. Plus every verse rhyming one word is pretty cool.

One of the best moments in AIFST is when Adrock takes off his hat and yells "NOW WHEN I WROTE GRAFFITI MY NAME WAS SLOP!" surrounded by audience members.

yea its alright but at the right moment with the volume all the way up & the bass hittin your face, it could be one of the best, i love it when performed live, but if it came up randomly on my ipod i would probally skip it for some non-beastie music

It is odd and different. I like how they use the 'Uzi' beat on it nowadays. Funny how Hello Nasty was a 'Space' album, yet only the lead single really (and I mean consistently) met the space reference.

Yeah, well back in '98 it was so overrated, so at the time I guess I kind of overlooked it. But now that the hype has died down, I can listen to it and really appreciate it for what it is. A lot of fans write is off as being a fad and not up to scratch with their other songs, but listening to it now...it's pretty damn amazing.

There's a fair bit going on in there. Sometimes, with all that going on, it sorta sounds like nothing much is going on. I don't hate it, it's not a bad song.

Yes, the best.

It's a great song. Horovitz kills it with every verse.

Some memorable lines include:

"It always brings me back when I hear "oooh Child."

"I run the marathon to the very last mile."

"When it comes to envy y'all is green."

"Jazz and Awol, that's our team
Step inside the party (fuck up) the whole scene"

and of course the line mentioned in my quote.

Love that trizzack.

Its uniqueness and "dance in the club" feel makes it an instant classic. It isn't their best song, but its very innovative and I think thats why people appreciate "Intergalatic" so much.

Well it's my fave beastie track. It has one of the best beats i've heard, it's the best to dance to and their voices sound great on that track.
Not to mention the killer video and how great that track sounds LOUDASFUCK on a high end hifi.

it's great. but maybe it was a tad bit overrated years ago simply because it was the first taste of new beasties since ill comm.
like, if you didn't have anything to eat for 3-4 days and someone threw you a snickers bar, that damn snikers bar would taste DELICIOUS. and don't get me wrong, snickers are delicious, but they are no hersheys w/ almonds or butterfinger crisp!!

it's definately great at parties or when you hear it out. currently it's my ringtone. and it's the 2nd most listened song on my Last.fm list.

the only other song i've heard more in my life would be Cosmic Girl :o

i agree.......but since they started off IC with a nonhiphop track and after a 4year break.......it was enough to wet the whistle.......

I can say that I simply love it.
When i go on work, drivin' in my car on the highway on morning (like around 8AM) I love to listen to it because it "charges" me... I arrive on work in a nice mood... :)
Yep yep...i love Intergalactic!

For such a wacky song it really is amazing how it caught on. I think lots of people just love it cause they can easily sing along when the boys echo a rhyme. (mario c likes to keep it clean) "CLEAN!"

It is classic no doubt.(y)

I loved it when it came out and then when I saw them perform it live at VMAs made me like it even more. Brillinat performance. Horovitz on fire. I watched it over and over again. My video tape got really worn out in this place.

I still like it but I don't listen to it much because I heard it probably too many times over the years.

It got mega-played out, but for a reason. It's easily one of their best songs. Genious hook, and some of their most memorable one-liners. Plus the beat was fucking fantastic. Total banger.

The video is still marvelous, by the way.

Did anyone here get to hear the original Intergalactic song? I heard it many many years ago. I think it was recorded around '94 or '95. I got it off of the original Napster. It had a different beat and different lyrics.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It was pretty good!

Awesome, thanks! I knew I wasn't going crazy! Yeah, it's definitely not as good as the real version, but I find it very amusing. Couple of good samples and funny lines like "I'm the first man on the moon with a 3-wood teein'!" Good stuff.

Intergalactic = Super Banger.

Now that the song is old news, when I do slip it on at a party everyone goes nuts. The beat is hard, everyone knows the lyrics and its just a great track. As a dj this one is up there with like Paul Revere. People know both of those tracks, and its not as corny as playing "Girls" for the fratboys.

Just make sure you turn intergalactic UP LOUD.... feel those subs.

/also once when I djed a club right after TT5B was released and I didnt have it on vinyl yet so I had to play my CD using the clubs janky cd-J things. The music was hella bumpin' loud and the peeps were vibing out to my selections in a packed house, so I drop "Right Right Now Now" and everyones like "Ah Hellz Yeahh....." then, of course, it just starts skipping after like 30 seconds like the cheap POS cd-J it was, so I quickly skipped to track 3 (3 the hard way) which just doesnt have as much energy as "RRNN" and everyone booo'ed. Oh well. Just one more reason to stick to vinyl and not janker cheap cd-Js. It still ended good and everyone loves hearing Beasties, especially a new album they havent heard it before.
