easily one of the worst lists I have ever seen. And I'm talking about all lists in general.... greatest artist lists, laundry lists, grocery lists.... i mean they got 50 cent but no RUN DMC?... i could go on and on but i guess its supposed to be "a list of 200 albums they think every popular-music fan should own".... so i suppose i am more of a fan of music in general than "popular-music"

Wow! Yeah, what can really say about that list. I guess like you said they're going with what "every popular music fan" should have.
Would have been nice to see The Flaming Lips get a nod with either 'The Soft Bulletin' or 'Yoshimi', cuz those are some damn fine albums.
Also, although it's not "popular", I didn't see any "electronic" albums on there. I think you could make a case for something like The Chemical Brothers "Exit Planet Dust", Fatboy Slims "You've Come Along Way Baby" or maybe The Orb's "The Orb's Adventure Beyond the Ultraworld".
And the list could go on and on. But nice find, thanks for that.

ok curiosity got me.. started looking at it until i saw SHANIA TWAIN ... ahead of Stevie Wonder.. And I don't know if Hank made the list, but for representing country music SHANIA TWAIN is at the top.. sorry, Mr. Williams:( forget those aristocrats

LTI was a big record in 1986! It should be higher.
Pauls Boutique wasn't a big record in 1989, but it is known as a great album NOW. It should be higher than LTI.
Then again these NY daily news people are douchebags
