hummmmm...well do you think you are?

I have a few friends from college who I LOVE to peices...but the sad truth is they are kinda airheads. they are great people, but rocket scientists they are not. My boyfriend agees the are sweet but dumb.

I suppose there are some advantages to being smarter than your friends, I mean they think everything you say is brilliant.

Or maybe I'm kinda dumb too, after all, they are my friends and i use to spend an obsene amount of time with them.

Everyone thinks they are more intelligent than everyone else, because you don't actually know what other people are thinking but you hear your own clever thoughts and think "wow I'm the shit". Often the "intelligent" one in a group is just the one who says intellectual things without being scared of looking like a dork.

I don't think I'm smarter than my friends at all. Just better.

hmmmmm......I think most of my friends are really bright, articulate, compassionate and funny people...that's why we're drawn to each other......we do have the "dumb guy" in our clan, classic jock type, really thick, poor vocabulary, brutal ettiquite.....but the guy is an amazing carpenter/craftsman and would carry you off the mountain, through a raging blizzard at the cost of losing both feet to frostbite,so to speak....so he shine's in his own way......when I get that superiority itch i always look to alternative character quality's I suppose.....what's driving me mad with regards to intellectual superiority is I'm working with someone 6 years younger than me who constantly trumps me in in intellectual, cultural and professional matters......she's amazing.....I can't stand her.....I think I love her......

Of my close friends, our intelligence level is comparable to each other. We all have about the same reasoning and logic as each other, but have different knowledge in different areas. Pretty much all of us went to the same university, too.

I have a few friends who kind of lack in the intelligence part, but they're by no means stupid. It just takes them a little bit longer to catch on. I'd argue I only have one or two actually...dumb...friends. I feel bad for saying it. :(

I think everyone has at least one dumb friend in the group. If you can't figure out who it is, then its you.

And I would also say that most circles have friends that know more about a certain subject the rest of circle, while another person has their own thing. Not one of us is smarter than the other overall, just about different things....except for the dumb one in the group...he/she doesn't count and are just there for everyone else to pick on.

I think among my good friends none of us could say we're the smartest or most capable in all areas.

I mean - one guy might not be able to write a term paper on postmodernism, but he can figure out a linear algebra problem that would take me all day. One guy couldn't pass his biology class but could run a small business. I think real familiarity with other people generally produces humility in me.

I don't think I'd hang out with people who were considerably less intelligent than me. they need to be smart enough to understand my cutting put-downs.

everyone I'm good friends with is pretty smart. some are smarter than me, some are not as smart. it balances out. like my friend the neurobiologist. he's sharp as a tack, but he thought that Helsinki was in Iceland. :(

sometimes I say doofus things, other times I say really smart things. my mom says I'm like the absent-minded professor. oh well, it makes me more lovable.

I have some super smart ivy league educated friends and I have some who are not so book smart. I guess I'm in the middle but I wouldn't say that I have a circle of friends so the smart ones and the not so smart ones don't know each other. But, it's interesting that if I need help with anything, I call the high school drop out, blue collar guys and not the smarty-art guys. And now that I think of it, they seem to be happier more than the smart high achievers.

Most of the Army isn't full of very smart people, at my level anyway. So it's not hard to be one of the smarter ones. Not wanting to boast, but saying it out anyway so I look really good, I got one of the top 5 GTI (some Army test) scores in the whole training squadron (that's a lot of people). So there you go. Also, modesty is not one of my strong points.
